BRZ still considered a Scooby?
I know that the Imprezza guys refer to their car as Scoobys. Does that count for all Subaru's?

They call it scoobys for subaru, not for impreza.
This is debatable though... I know some people who don't even consider the BRZ a subaru because its shared with Toyota. They can go fuck themselves, I bought the BRZ because it IS a subaru. Yes its a scooby (to me at least lol). |

Imprezas for the most part are pretty ugly cars save for the most recent ones. I dont need to be a "scooby".
Lucky Toyota contributed the styling for the twins.

It's a Toyota, it's a Scion, it's a Subaru, it's your car. Brand doesnt matter, own it, embrace it, debadge it, rebadge, write Shaggy on the side. Your choice, your decision, your car.
My car is WRB Subaru BRZ 6MT Premium and I love it, I like getting matching mats as well as flying through corners or trying to break past 34mpg on the highway and achieve a new PR. There is also something to be said for all the cute girls that love getting in a sexy new car.

The engine is a Subaru flat-4, so by heart, it's a Subaru to me.

Mechanically it's Subaru minus the d4s. The interior however is so Toyota. I'm proud to own a Subaru though.

Yep, it's a scooby, scoob, suby, subie and what ever else you wanna call it. If a car has the stars in the badge, it's a Subaru.
Hell, I call my Saabaru a scooby. |

If the Suby community could embrace the 9-2x (and they did), then there is no reason the BRZ isn't one. The only thing against it is that it looks too good to fit in with other Subarus, but most Subaru owners will admit their car has quirky character rather timeless good looks. Some people try to convince themselves that their Subaru isn't ugly, and the overly insecure may try to poke at you. Ignore them. They have no taste. Disclaimer: I have spent many $$$$ on ugly Subarus. Don't get your panties in a bunch if you've convinced yourself your Impreza looks good. They have other redeeming qualities. |

Well...mine was painted WRB so I KNOW it's a Subaru. Scoob, Suby, Soob, whatever; what you can't call this car is "Rex" as that's only for the WRX/STI.
The 9-2X Aero was a reskinned WRX...the BRZ is nothing like anything before so I wouldn't use that singular example as a basis for anything. |
