Good luck. Probably worth trying to find an unallocated car
18 Month wait? Thats longer then what the BRZ Wait times are.... and Subaru Australia is getting allocated FAR less cars then what Toyota Australia are able to bring in.

That doesnt make sense at all.

Thats if you believe that the 'Subaru wait times' are reliable. Most dealers will tell you 18months because thats the official line from Toyota and thats managing expectations down. Theres not point for them telling you its going to be 7.5 months and you decide to buy from them and when it doesnt come in that time you complain and say you couldve bought a Subaru etc. Unfortunately theyre taking a long time to come - I ordered 18th June and am scheduled to get it next month - so a 7 month wait.

You never know, TMCA may secure greater ongoing production allocation increases further along the way, I'd say just try to find something else to distract you while you wait and you'll find the time flies.

mmm... By the time the car arrives the MK7 GTI will be available along with the new Mercedes A250 Sport.

And for the inner bogan, HSV will have all their VF models available too.

If the wait stretches out too long I will be looking at alternative cars.

But youre assuming that those models will have no waiting list too? Also they wouldnt be in the same price range. The golf is 5-10k more depending on options and the Mercedes will be nearly double!

The A Class will start at low $30k range. The A250 is rumored to be no more than a Golf R.

I've seen some early equipment levels for regular Golf and it seems there won't be too many options. Push button start, sat nav and reverse camera should all be standard.

Agreed on the waiting list though. Don't expect an exact match for your order until mid 2014.

They're chalk and cheese though. The only cars I saw compared to the 86 were Scirocco, Megane and BMW 1 series coupe. Couple markets are very niche and people don't wander outside it very often.

Doing better than me, my original GT was ordered 22 July and still NOT lanned for either January or February, so 24 weeks now and absolutely Jack Sh*t on that one!! So if someone ordered November do the numbers!!

I'm one of the lucky ones who rang around back in October and scored a GTS from another Dealer when that Dealer was allocated an extra car that met a customers order placed early June - so now mine is being built FRIDAY!!!!!

Remember guys, DONT blame your Dealer for delays, its the way Toyota do their 'allocations' and then send orders to Japan. Further, don't listen to the crap that Toyota's Chairman of Sales & Marketing goes on with - telling Carsguide.com that the wait for a GT is 'as little as 6 weeks'

No wonder people get frustrated!! I might be getting mine by the end of January but I also feel for you guys who ordered back in June/July and nothing has progressed at all

Hey guys,

My dealer finally got back to me with a logon for the online tracking.

The password I was given is apparently a 'Batch Number'.

Will that help at all trying to figure out when the car will have its production month scheduled?

My order status just got bumped forward a week!

Gone from 6/1/13 to 31/12/12.

Excitement level has increased dramatically at the thought of getting this car in 12 days!
