Get a 250r, or the new 300.

I'd be dead if I started on the same bike I have now, and we seem like we enjoy the same thrill seeking. Death should never be "part of the thrill." It can come far faster on a motorcycle than you think.

You can thank me later, but I took the liberty to read your long post and this is what I gathered reading between the lines.

I know this is a retarded thread, but I'm dying for some attention. I really really want you all to know that I'm ONLY 22yrs old and money is NOT an issue. Also, hopefully you'll think that I'm cool because I have had experience with faster cars FE: Maserati gran turismo, Infiniti G37S, Shelby mustang at 415HP, EVO X, subaru STI. Either I saw pictures of them online or I drove them...on GT5.

Btw, my body is bloody perfect.
My advice to you is:

(1) get a GF or BF, whatever floats your boat - attention crave fixed!
(2) get a financial advisor because if you're actually rolling so deep that money is NOT an issue, but you cannot make these basic decisions on your own, you are fawken retarded. Hmm...die riding a bike or drive a RWD Corolla? Decisions, decisions...
(3) about your body, pix or you be a fat kid living in mom's basement.

Good Mother Mary, ft86club went to the shitters fast!

Right... Well then,

1) I'm not in this for attention
2) I said this because some people are bias towards other opinions based on their financial situation. Generally most would assume at 21 im rolling in college debt or horrible with money
3) I dont need to prove anything here, my avi is an accurate representation of what I look like

And so far judging by these posts I might sway more towards the twins, i'll have both in the long haul, but as of now Im kinda ruling out the bike theory. But Im very bipolar.

I highly advise against buying a 600rr for your first bike and using it as a DD. The street is a very dangerous place for a bike, especially if you don't know how to ride one.

I have been racing motocross for 15 years and am not slow by any means (competitive in open A). Also race sportbikes. I am 100% comfortable going 160+ mph on the track but still get nervous riding one on my 45 mph trip to work. People are awful drivers and don't watch for bikes.

If you really want a bike I would suggest either a dirtbike or track only bike. Both you could go as fast as you want and crash your brains out learning. Yea there is a good chance of getting hurt. But unlike the road the consequences aren't death. You will get all the thrills you can imagine and be relatively safe.

My first bike was a 600F4I and theres nothing wrong with starting out with that size or higher. As long as you don't exceed your riding abilities and take the time to learn and get use to the bike you will be fine. All bikes goes go fast enough to hurt yourself so it really doesn't matter what size you get. Just rememeber to always wear your protective gear and watch for other drivers.

Big difference between the F4I and 600RR (Race Replica); with a 600RR a handful of brake and you could kill yourself, handful of throttle and you could kill yourself. The F4I is a very capable bike and a better starting point for learning.

A bike will nearly always beat a car. Hell, that new Ducati Panigale has a Porsche 911 (GT3? I forget) up until 180. A 250cc sportbike should be as fast as the BRZ if not faster...what do you want? I prefer cages for their safety, but I dream of racing bikes because they are the purest expression of speed...but I'd never want to daily one in the congestion and driver stupidity that is in my area.

Im just talking about 600's in general. Haha hand full of break will throw you over with any bike, but as long as you take your time and learn you will be fine. BTW I own both F4I and RR and as long as you arent stupid with either you will be fine.

It's not the engine size. For me, the main problem with these laser-focus 600 sportbikes is that they're ergos SUCK on the street, and newbs will not enjoy them anything like as much as bikes like:
Ninja 250R, 300 or 650; Yamaha FZ6R; Honda CBR500R or CB500F; Suzuki SFV650.

Or a used F4i for that matter! Or SV650, Ninja 500, etc. etc. etc.

Friend of mine loves her FZ6R. The ergo LOOKS way better than its race-bred brother as well. A friend of mine used to do 2-3hr highway travel stints on his CBR600RR...not sure how, but I'm sure it was really uncomfortable.

I'd never suggest anyone get a race-bred bike as their first bike. 600cc is plenty to grow into and get into trouble with; I don't know why there's such a small bike stigma. Buy a 250cc to learn on, sell it when you're ready for exactly what you paid for it...they retain value REALLY well.

@Exhaust, have you considered getting a bike strictly for the track? You could still get your speed fix without living quite so dangerously. I have a friend who does that out in Cali and he absolutely loves it. Get one cheap enough and you can still get the FR-S for the street!

Don't forget a truck to take it to the track, etc.

A lot of people will tell you it is a bad idea to get a 600 for your first bike. I had numerous people tell me this as well. It all depends on how mature YOU are. It takes a while to learn to master riding a bike properly.

I picked up a brand new GSX-R 600 as my first bike when I was 19. I have owned 3 bikes since then and have never dropped or downed one because I learned what my limits were and stay on the lower side of them.

Hopefully you will at least take a good motorcycle safety course. They will give you some good basics, then you can take an advanced class with your personal bike which will help you learn even more.

Just make sure to keep the shiny side up.

Oh and the fear (or joy) of death should not be a determining factor in purchasing a bike...

This is true, however I just assume that everyone who lives in Texas owns a truck already
