...I'm with Dave. How does someone make that little money?
Even if she only works 20 hours a week or even 15 hours a week at $7.25/hr she should turn about $380 a month (after taxes of course). Which certainly isn't much, but making any less would be crazy. It's a rough situation man, and even rougher that it is confirmed as your own; however things happen as they happen, hopefully you decide to have something to do with the kid. It might make more impact than a car anyhow. Child support is a pain and a bit too tough on the party that doesn't have custody in a number of cases. Hopefully things get figured out for you and you come out alright. GLWS.

Childcare expenses would eat right through that, maybe she was with someone and now they learned baby's not theirs? Whatever the situation glad to hear your doing right.

I don't know how you're gonna unload that car if you're upside down $9,000, dude. Someone would have to pay off the lien to get it, ain't no one gonna pay that much for a used FR-S. You best come up with a serious plan.
Do you have GAP insurance on the car? If you were to "accidentally" total the car you'd get out of that mess real quick. But you didn't hear it from me...

If a single child support payment puts him past affording it...clearly there was no plan in the first place.

No easy way I can see the OP getting out of this with his credit or financial well-being intact. Nearly $10k upside down on the car, and apparently losing of $534/mo in income is enough to not afford the car.
I suppose he could just stop paying on the car and get it repo'ed and take the hit on his credit for the next 5 or 7 years or whatever (not something I'd do). If I were in this situation, I'd deliver pizzas a couple of nights a week (or find another part time job) to pay for the child support and keep the car, and learn from the mistake (car/financing and child/sex related). Good luck working through this. Hope you can make it through with your sanity and finances intact.

OP, I assume you're a marine by your name... If so claim the kid and get that extra pay. That will take care of your child support and you get to keep the car. Problem solved!

I would recommend to cancel your warranty first. You will get 95-98 percent back most cases. (well they will take out that much money from your loan.
And I am agree with DNA test to double tap. If you have original car stereo, sell be spoke... And part time job during weekend Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2 |

Find a room mate. Problem solved.
Or get married. With 2 incomes its no big deal to pay the support. |

For real! He'll need this too!
I see it all of the time with fresh recruits and motorcycles. Why do Marines make some of the dumbest financial decisions!?!
