Subaru dashpiece in a FR-S?!?
I know the cars are indentical and all but I want to transfer the dashpiece above the glovebox and around the radio from the BRZ into my FR-S because I do not like the look of the fake carbon fiber. Anyone know if these parts are interchangeable?

The only reason I ask is my buddy has the BRZ and his radio is different, it has the NAV screen and I am worried the dimensions of that are different then the radio trim piece in the FRS making them not fit. I know the passenger side trim piece is the same. Anyone know if the radio trim is the same?
Thanks for the info! |

I have no idea how proficient you are with DIY type applications but apparently you can peel off the fake CF from the FR-S trim pieces, clean up any left over adhesive and wrap them with any number of 3M wraps for cheap. But like I said, just depends on how comfortable you are doing stuff yourself.

Ok thanks! I was looking the other day at a BRZ and it almost looked like different dimensions for the hole cut in the trim for the radio compared to mine. Maybe it was just an optical illusion!

Why don't you save some money and just spray paint your original trim or vinyl it silver instead of buying the BRZ one.

A bit of a pain in the ass but worth doing, did this in about 2 hours with 3M Di-Noc... lots of heating and adjusting >.<

Yeah I have debated doing this, but I am an engineer with little to zero artistic talent and it does take a steady hand and a little talent to come out with a factory quality finish. If I did it, I would worry it would look terrible in terms of quality. I have though about it though and I have though about doing carbon fiber but for the same reason above I would have it done by someone and that can be kind of expensive.
