See my profile broheem i don't even own an frs/brz. I just lurk the forums to see how things pan out for this car. I plan on buying a low mileage used one.

Anyways the car appeals to me, american muscle cars don't. However the focus st is very nice. That being said.
I'll gladly buy american made car parts that are quality and produce good gains, and part of the reason will be that it's from an american tuner. That being said it still has to fit the critieria of being quality and worth the cost.

Thats fine if you want to buy a made in china/taiwan exhaust to save money whatever. It's your money. I'm just here to simply explain US car parts are typically better, and worth the price. For example perrin on the dyno has proven to give the best gains. I personally dig the srt exhaust but as far as I know they haven't been run neck to neck to see which is better. Eitherway it's clear to me US made exhausts can be very good. Maybe a little more expensive, but I also like the piece of the mind that it's locally made.

You're right. Sorry, I am just so focused on getting an MXP exhaust that I mixed everything else up.

Good choice that's what I run, no fitment issues with this one.

Are the gains in power noticable? and have you gotten a down pipe with it yet? My cousin has an MXP exhaust for his g37s and I hear it everyday..It's LOUD, yet tasteful. I don't want anything too loud, and I know a downpipe would increase the sound lol.

I had the motiv test pipe first, it's not too loud IMO and I'm picky about noise.
I could feel a gain but have a tune also.

because of this thread, i feel like if i buy non-us parts, im a communist and i dont support my country lol. not literally, but you know...(sarcasm)

but i don't think it should matter WHERE the parts come from as long as they are QUALITY parts.

Buy what best suits you and be happy!

Quality is what we all look for in the long run i believe.
if you like the exhaust for a certain price make sure the quality of it is great. because if you dont then you will be getting another exhaust which might tend to cost more. so i would do it right the first time. Now if the cheaper exhaust has great quality and cant go wrong with it, then thats a great buy!
also preference in sound is important.
i have a tanabe medalion touring on mine and i know the quality is superb. price might be higher but i liked their reputation.
Invidia has a nice exhaust too but its all under your perception on what you like under your budget.

here is my tanabe medalion

Look at the welds and you will see why it's cheaper than the rest

I am also thinking about one, and my last car was built in a factory less than 59 miles from where I live (dodge) so I think I am entitled to a little foreign spice on this car. LOL. I am curious what people's take is on the burned tips look on some of these? I still have not decided how I feel about it. Is there any performance advantage, or is it purely styling?

All of you that are saying that you dont want to put forign over seas aftermarket parts on your car make no sense. The whole damn car from the factory is built and parts are sourced from over seas. I myself have an invidia N1 and love the look, sound, and fitment of the piece. Top notch

Just styling. But its real burnt titanium tips. Not steel that has been dipped. Dipped tips fade after a while. You can see the rivets because the titanium tip is sleeved on. Its difficult and costly to weld titanium to stainless steel hence the rivets.
