There're only like 3 good kits for the BRZ/FRS. The majority of the stuff coming out is just plain tacky and ridiculous.

Exactly what I was thinking since I have a black BRZ! I'd try it out just for giggles. I'm already seriously considering the Modellista front and rear light corner moldings/caps, but the SARD tail light would be much more covert once painted black.

A lot of the stuff for the 86 looks like they took cues from the 90s ricer days and went on an acid trip, then went to the drawing boards.
