Well, is all approved and stuff but the bank is taking their time to release the funds.

I have to go see the Bank and ask can they do the transfer from my Bank to the Dealers Bank and nominated account or do I have to get a Bank Cheque then go and deposit at the Dealer's Bank? Either way all OK except if I take a Bank Cheque to the Dealer that can take 3 days or so to clear

Ho hum - best go for a short walk up to the Queen Street Mall!!

You should be able to get your car by handing over the bank cheque to the dealer, don't bank the cheque. That is what the bank cheque for.

Understand that but they take 3 days to clear, will check if that's OK and I'm sure it is .. just been to see the Bank and $35 for a telegraphic transfer direct to their account

All good, have to make a trip out there with the rego plates so they have them to attach when it comes

It's a bank cheque mate the whole point of them is they are 100% guaranteed to clear. They are considered the same as walking in with a bag of cash.

Btw mine updated this morning to in transport to dealer!

Thanks Nix, know how they work and all that, just don't want to go pay and have them wait 3 days for clearance, just me and the way I operate! Least I'm earning good interest while waiting and good to hear yours has updated again, been a LONG wait for you!!

Anyone know if they are still making the GT? My original order of now 23+ weeks ago is still not planned for January or February!! Lucky I rang around like lots of others and scored this GTS!!

Yeah but you shouldn't have to wait for clearance on a bank cheque.

Yep, early June order so it's broken 6 months already.

Bank cheque is like cash. The bank cheque can only be taken out when the money is held by the bank, so it's guaranteed to clear and not bounce. You do not have to wait for it to clear when the dealership cashes it in, it's their problem. U take the car
Immediately when u hand over the cheque.

Only downside is bank cheque has an admin fee. Costs me $10 with my bank. Transfer is free.

Haha - reminds me when I bought my ZR Celica back in 1994 from Ken Sams Toyota in Sydney, said I was 'paying cash' and the goose said 'you mean you are bringing in over $50,000 in REAL cash? 'No you flamin' uneducated moron, it means NO finance!' Was bad enough when I bought the MX5 and the guy wanted REAL cash not a bank cheque, so I went with him and withdrew $13,500 and passed it over to him!! Hasd he deposited a Bank Cheque it would have, according to him, affected his pension!!

Slightly 'Off Topic' but who cares?? SUE ME!!

hadn't checked my tracking in a while but did yesterday and it had updated to "In Transit To Australia". I'm wondering if anyone knows how much longer it will be?

excited to say the least.
