Boys stop with the argument, cuz if u are really rich enough to own both cars... u will still pick LFA most of the time.
![]() If you are not rich enough u will pick viper and bash LFA? Not likely, u will probabaly just get a ZR-1 or GT-R & call it good. |

Someone came to FT86 club to bash Lexus LFA. WTF just happened? LFA is what rich guys chose to drive on the street as a DD to blow away everyone on the freeway with its the engine note. I believe with stickier tires LFA can lap better, but Lexus chose not to. They want the car to be driver friendly, not harsh.

You shouldnīt be promoting this. Makes the Viper look bad. And it makes you a really, really stupid troll. "Ohhhhh but itīs cheaper" you say? and yet they still couldnīt move them off the lots, so they could actually pick an unsold 2010 brand new ACR to do this test? The LFA on the other hand... is already sold out.Well, thanks for joining us ![]() PD: The LFA sucks, as almost every halo car does. The ACR is cool. A comparison between them is fun, but I assure you, nobody will be cross-shopping these cars. Now, can I interest you in a 200hp, boxer engined, RWD, lightweight sport coupe?

I think we need to:
1. Not consider Nurburgring lap times as a measure of how good a car is. An LFA will be built with the utmost quality and precision by small Japanese Master Technicians, whereas a Viper is built by a bunch of fat women in Detroit (How It's Made episode shocked me, lol) 2. Realize that, The LFA is NOT A CAR. Or at least, not in the usual sense. Toyota isn't making gobs of money on this car, in fact, they aren't making any. This car was a demonstration of how ridiculously intense Toyota's engineering can be. And Engineering does not translate to Horsepower or Track Times. Engineering is optimizing the fewest materials to produce the highest quality product. A V10 that revs to 9-10k, that is the size of a V8, and the weight of a V6? That takes work. Producing 117HP per Liter out of an NA engine, that takes serious work. CREATING AN ENTIRELY NEW MATERIAL (CFRP), for which only 2 looms exist (Toyota has both), that takes a lot of work. This car isn't a car in the traditional sense. When you buy this car, you are acknowledging what Toyota has done and essential investing your money in their tech. And with investment, comes expansion; and with expansion, comes an increase in supply, which translates to lower costs. When (a more advanced, obv) CFRP starts coming in your FR-S', and costs no more than aluminium or steel does now, you'll wonder how we got by without it. And the precursor to that, is the LFA.

To each on his own. I find it looks incredibly beautiful. Ferrari can't design a car look this good.

Out of all the cars in the world, the LFA separates the Fanboy/Bench racing /0-60mph "enthusiasts" from the people that love cars the best.
The people that go on about it's lap times, acceleration times, cost (like it matters once you have 400k to spend on a car) just don't get the point at all and that's too bad. When a company puts everything it knows about making driving a car amazing the end result is never anything more or less than what was intended. In SO many ways the LFA embodies the Japanese spirit far better than the GTR. The GTR is a solution to a problem; I need to get from here to here in this much time and it needs to cost no more than this much. As for the other exotics, the name itself precludes any idea that someone is cross-shopping them! "hmm I have 400 thousand dollars to spend.....well, the Ferrari looks nice hmmm but the new Aventador has more horsepower hmmm....OH WAIT, I have 8 cars already so I'll just buy two more who cares..." Sorry for the rant but given the spirit of this website and how much love we're showing for the 86 (which on paper is completely obsolete) it's obvious most people on here "get it". |

If according to Tanahashi driving pleasure is the first priority, why not provide a proper manual in the LFA? Sure the floppy paddle gearbox is faster but it doesn't connect the driver to the car. The 911 GT3 RS still embodies a full on race car that still involves the driver for me. Sure the LFA has a bunch of nice and unique tech in it, but just like many of you argue against the GTR, the LFA is just another computer controlled car. |

That car is amazing, BUT let's not forget that Ferrari hasn't exactly had a spotless record on the styling front either
