So I was looking up Harris hill and it looks fun. Can you drive the track before u spend the money on the membership? I'm really debating it.

Go to www.harrishillroad.com and look up in the calendar when they have member days. You can go to the track and speak to either Phillip, Bow, or Rod about joining up. They will give you a few laps in the H2R MX-5 and maybe even let you try out your car. It is fun but i definitely recommend taking a drivers education course before you hit the track since going off can be very costly and insurance does not cover. If you have never driven on a race track before joining up i do recommend you take a couple of HPDE events to see if you feel comfortable and enjoy it.

Membership is $2,500 and monthly fees are 180+tax. I go there at least twice a month so the membership pays off plus they have reciprocal memberships with MSR so you can go out there on member days as well.

Good drivers ed:

www.longhornracingacademy.com
www.thedriversedge.net

Hope this helps

Wow man thanks for the info. I will most def look into the classes. Im seriously thinking of paying off my car in the next 12 months and then buying another one so i can turn my frs into a pure autox / track car. I need a hobby.

Also bad news, i have condensation in my tail lights :-(

That's great, Joe! I know we can count on you to give us support. Not so sure our local S.A. ft86club group is up for planning a major statewide gathering!!! Lots of us would be "In" if there was one. We did pretty good getting 5 BRZs all together at once though!!!!! (That's equal to about 15 FR-Ss when you consider the manufacturing numbers!) I think its just a matter of time. When there are more 86 cars out there on the streets there will be more of an opportunity for sponsors to support events for an economic return. As enthusiasts and owners, we're having fun with the low key celebrity cult status right now!!!!

You were probably down towards my neck of the woods. Did you go past 1863? Kindergarten stuff compared to what we encountered Sat.!!!!! You just wait.....

Half of the run was pretty much wide open in front of us maybe just a couple of oncoming vehicles seen. Only on the leg back to Leakey was it "light" traffic and even then we could have just stopped or slowed for a bit to create a gap (which we did several times). Even at a slow pace the scenery was pretty awesome to look at. This is probably a good time of year to do Twisted Sisters because there are fewer folks. In the Spring, when the wildflowers are out, it's probably at funeral procession speeds.
