Sorry, another question for those who went through Penfed. How long does it take to get the loan check to give to the dealership, once the loan application is approved? My car will be here in approximately 2-3 weeks and I'm trying to figure out the best time to do the application.

Once youve applied and approved probably about a day or 2

2.49 APR at Bank of America for a score of 777. Scion could only offer 3.1

i went through penfed for my loan. i'd at least do it 1-2 weeks in advance. it's better to have the loan ready and wait for the car than have the car wait for the loan.

You can pay $15 for them to fast ship the check. That's exactly what I did. I got it in like 1 or 2 days.

Scion offered me 2.99 but I went with my credit union at 3.24 because of the payroll deduction and because I would rather my bank make the interest than Toyota Financial Services (like to keep stuff local if I can).

This. I financed through my credit union but they still offered to overnight the check for 15 dollars (did not buy locally).

I was basically forced to pay cash cuz Toyota in Canada would only do 5.15% at the dealer.

I wouldn't mind financing but at my age I'm getting rates like 4.5%
