Lucky you. Mines still in limbo at the moment. Thought it would've definitely been on the Viking Amber which left YOK yesterday... but called up TMCA today and its still showing up as 'ready for shipping at the docks' on their system... hopefully its not real time otherwise it'll be like another 2 weeks til the next ship i think... this is crap. Only positive is it will be complianced as a 2013 vehicle apparently

How does that come about? Do Toyota have a 'cut-off' date in December and then decide all after that are 2013?

Slightly off-topic I was talking to a guy yesterday at Lakeside, he has an 8/99 MX5 and mine is 01/00 yet my VIN number is about 360 BEFORE his!!

Yeah my car will most likely arrive in the xmas/new year break period so the compliance guys will be off until maybe 2nd week of next year when they will do it.

I asked the TMCA guy on the phone and he said it will be regarded as a 2013 vehicle because it is complianced in 2013 (even though it was built in 2012) - i.e. thats what dealers do... hope its legit.

A valuer will value it as 2012. They always go off the build plate. It's stupid, but that has always been the consistent rule of thumb. Valuations don't even have a spot for compliance

Hi mate, actually no, us dealers do not. Year model is determined by Build date. All valuations as per my esteemed colleague Monty said are done on Build date. Compliance is commonly known amongst dealers as the year in which the vehicle came into the country (in the case of imported vehicles). In the case of locally manufactured vehicles i.e. Aurion, Camry, the build and compliance dates are usually the same.

I enquired a few weeks ago about the same thing, the Australian compliance plate is attached to the car as it comes down the line in Gunma, NOT when it gets to Australia - told it only relates to 86's and not other Toyota's and something to do with the FHI/Subaru system

Would like to see it 2013!! Mine's off the line 21st so miss 2013 by 10 days!! Who cares?

Alright. Cheers for the clarification on this. I guess the guy was just trying to cheer me up because of the delay. Yeah i don't really care for 2012/2013.

In better news, this afternoon my tracking updated. Finally says its in transit to straya. Its giving me a latest pickup date of 23/01/2013 now. That's a good two weeks longer than the initial estimate. Ah well at least I know where it is now...
