TRD Dual or Quad Exhaust? Confused?

Hey guys,

Ive been eyeing off the TRD and Five Axis Kits and I noticed something on these videos from Five Axis...

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPg5vksv3HE"]2013 Scion FR-S Custom Five Axis Edition Revealed - YouTube[/ame]

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zsPReU5EW-Y"]FIVE axis Scion FR-S Tuner Car Walkaround and Start-Up Video Review TRD - YouTube[/ame]

They are talking about and showing off a Dual TRD Exhaust system. However I cannot seem to find how you get this from TRD?

http://trdparts.jp/english/86_perfor...e-exhaust.html

Having the dual Exhaust system is more appealing as it involves far less work then the Quad Exhaust we all know about.

Any ideas how we can get this? Even just a part number?

What is stopping Australian and New Zealander 86 owners from importing it? Does it void warranty that the Japanese TRD Parts offer us or something?

Is is proven that JDM TRD parts don't void warranty?

So whats the major difference between the Quad and Dual Exhaust system from TRD? The Dual Exhaust setup appears to be alot easier to install as it doesnt involve and cutting and having to purchase additional parts.

It sounds really nice too! Im having some difficulty hearing what the Quad Exhaust sounds like, as finding videos on youtube is hard.

TRD parts void your warranty whether it's TRD JP or US. The only time they are covered is if your dealer offers them to you as an option, which AFAIK no AU dealers have done yet.

^^Correct.

There is no official distribution of TRD parts in Australia at this stage. Meaning no dealer should be ordering them in as even if they fit them no warranty can be supplied.

Few rumors internally that there will be an official TRD release here in Australia during 2013; it will be the JDM versions of everything IF it does happen.

I like the OEM look and the sound of the USDM TRD zorst, but if'm going to pay TRD premium prices i would HAVE to have those sexy quad tips and bumper garnish lol

That is clear. I do like this option of a TRD Dual system though as I don't fancy cutting my rear end. As it is a cat back system does anyone know if there will be any fitting problems coming from a LHD market?

cat back shouldn't have fitting problem. over pipe might depends on the design.

but no one can confirm unless someone try to fit them.

And spending $1000+ on an exhaust setup that may not fit in Australia is probelly not what people want to do.

I cannot imagine Toyota changing around the underside of the car for LHD and RHD markets, its makes the manufacturing process more complex and expensive, which is something every company wants to avoid. Especially the Japanese as they have to worry about their local market being RHD and their largest customer base in the USA being LHD.

Is there anyway to confirm if the 86's in RHD and LHD have different setups underneath that would stop the dual exhaust from TRD USA being fitted?

There are no differences under the car, well at least from the cat backwards anyway.
The only issues with exhausts from LHD markets so far is headerback models. The steering assembly on our RHD cars gets in the way of USDM overpipes.

There is a thread on here somewhere about an SRT header back exhaust fitment on an Aussie 86, everything on it was fine except for the overpipe.

as mentioned, some overpipe developed by the US shops might not fit. Cat back should be fine but it is not right for me to tell you 100% sure no issue on a $1k plus part without verification.
