The same as the panic button I think. It's just one of the things I read here months ago to have activated because the PDI might have skipped it.

Why no license plate?

Another avenue for the dealership to screw up your new purchase. I didn't have the luxury to place the plate on myself as the salesperson was doing this while i was finishing up the financial portion. As i came out, to my horror, i watched as the guy using the flathead screwdriver pushed and slipped off the screw putting a deep scratch into the paint ~1.5 inches. When i looked closer there were multiple scratches.... F-bomb was dropped multiple times. I had to bring it back to the dealership for them to fix it, and it still isn't right...running my finger across the area the paint feels rough, and you can see where they had painted over some small debris....

Overall, just do everything yourself....you'll do a much better job, as you do care for the car, to them you're just a sale.

The car locator feature is almost like the panic alarm but without the horns; the feature is exactly what the name describes. For example, if you are out shopping at the mall (say it is dark out) and you have a hard time seeing where you left your car, when you activate this feature specific lights on your car will flash to signal you (must be within 30ft of the car). According to the owner's manual, this feature by default is not active and must be activated by the dealership.

I'm sure someone on the forum has probably already figured out a DIY for this. I will be searching for the DIY as I took deliver of my Whiteout last night and in the midst of my elation forgot to ask the salesman to help activate this feature for me. Hope this helps!

Just as an FYI the dealer did do a crappy PDI (not that I really care because I check most things myself anyways) and did not set the radio to FR-S mode. I know this has been covered in other threads but just to restate I think the Pioneers all ship in TC mode, so make sure you change it! 850 Miles now and still happy
