Twisted Sisters 86 Cruise Update:

GOING FOR SURE: 7

5 BRZs - (2 brand new ones delivered this week!)
2 Corvette Z-06s - (friends)

MAYBES: 2 FR-S - Won't know till later today....or in the morning? (Spur of the moment ppl are welcomed!)

NOT THIS TIME: 3 + ????

Pretty good turn out for our first S.A. 86 event!

I was checking out places to stop for lunch and it looks like there is a better choice of establishments in Leaky than there is in Camp Wood. When we meet in the morning I'll have a better handle on this and we can get a consensus of a lunch meetup spot destination prior to departure.

Awesome, Aaron! Good way to bond with your new BRZ and put a few break-in miles on as well!

PM'd fluffy-reindeer-slayer and I'm gonna pick-up one of these on Saturday Aftn. after the cruise to have on hand for a spare since I'm gonna run the stock wheels for DD. If anyone else is in for one of these, bring some cash tomorrow and we can go over to his place together. TPMS valve has been removed but, for a spare, a standard valve can be put in. Great deal!

Mine had the chirp pretty much since I got it back in July. I took it in to Universal Toyota in October which is where I got it and they replaced the HPFP under the TSB and I thought that the problem had been fixed but it came back about a week ago. I'm probably just gonna wait it out a bit longer since I've been hearing its been coming back for others who get it replaced as well.

Pretty sure that it has been determined that the problem is our fuel qualities compared to Japans.

Yeah but supposedly the new HPFP had been revised to fix the chirp issue due to the ethanol in our gas but that's not the case since the chirp keeps coming back.

Time to put some break-in miles on that BRZ, Aaron!

MEETUP TIME: 8:00 - 8:30
WHERE: WHATABURGER in Boerne (Hwy 46 @ I-10 near Home Depot)
DEPARTURE: 8:45 AM sharp

See you in a bit. I will have a copy of the following to handout . . .

S.A. 86 RECON CRUISE OF TWISTED SISTERS
12/8/2012

From Whataburger we’ll take HWY 46 to HWY 16 travelling through Bandera and arrive in Medina, Texas. If anyone wants to drive out Bandera Rd. and meet up with us in Medina we should be there at about 9:40AM. We'll stop at The Apple Store for a brief break.

The Three Sisters route starts in Medina, TX. From Medina we’ll catch RR337 heading west until we come up on the town of Leakey for a brief rest stop.
Meet up at the FRIO CANYON EXXON
608 S US Highway 83, Leakey, TX 78873
Take a left at 83 and about 2 blocks down on the left.

Then, we’ll go north on US 83 for a just about a mile or so and then hit RR336. We’ll take a left onto RR336 which will head us north. We’ll continue north on RR336 until we meet Texas 41 and at this point turn left in order to head west.

(Note: If there are spots to stop as a group for pit stops and take pictures of our cars together, scenery, etc., the lead car needs to make that call so that everyone can see that we are going to take a short break.)

We’ll go west for 15 miles or so and find RR335 on the left. We’ll take a left (east) and get on RR335 and drive south down to Camp Wood where we’ll take a left on to RR337 and finish out the loop when we hit Leakey again to end the cruise.

Meet up for lunch in Leakey at THE BENT RIM GRILL (Burgers and fries)
657 West RR 337 (1/2 mile west of Hwy 83)
Next to Canyon Motorcycle Stop

OR

Alternate Lunch Location – If there is an issue with THE BENT RIM

ELLA PURLS TRADING POST
Soup, sandwiches, salads. Lattes, smoothies, frappes and baked goods / gift shop.
183 HWY 83 SOUTH in downtown Leakey, Texas in the “Historic Drugstore”
