Lol, I only had to think once. For people who race/track though, it's a no brainer I'm sure. Burning your tires up in a a few weekend afternoons also is something I would never do, but these guys do it all the time and all those tires costs more in the long run than that battery replacement once or twice.

Does any one know which Deka model to replace? There are a few different models listed on Amazon.
Braille or Deka, cut 20+ lbs in a much lower price point is a reasonable upgrade. Last edited by 86BRZ; 12-07-2012 at 03:08 AM. |

Look at cold cranking amps of stock battery and try to get a lightweight that matches if you drive car daily especially in cold season.
For people doing this with the lithium ion batteries can you post back after running these in cold weather? |

I don't run mine in cold weather. Just like my race/summer performance tires, my lightweight lithium and AGM batteries come inside for the winter.

I see. I will probably run a Deka year round (Braille is rebranded Deka). I ran the ETX30L on my 4.2L V8 Audi with no problem through winters. I've also run the 11.0 lb option on 2.5L EJ257 STi engines and 2.0L EJ205 WRX engines.
For the 2.0L F4 in this car probably will get the 15.5 lb option. Half the weight of the OEM beattery still with 310 CCA (OEM 390 CCA I think). http://www.bohannonbattery.com/html/deka.html $80-$100 bux |

I have a friend who lives in North Toronto and runs this battery just fine, also the owner runs it on his BMW 5 series in Minnesota with no issues during the winter.

In the Hobby world, there are company's that will make you the battery you need. They are extensively used in model aircraft and electric powered bicycles. check out this form, look at the electric threads, also "Endless Sphere" is a INSANE electric/battery forum.
