I'm pretty surprised it rides like stock with that setup, handling aside no doubt.

The picture really makes it seem proportionally odd, though I doubt you get that impression in person. I think the biggest thing that really sticks out to me is how tiny the brakes look with this setup. Everything else on the car seems pretty balanced appearance wise though.

What is that badge you've got on the front of your bumper inside the stripe? Looks like something shooting for an M3 appearance.

The biggest question I guess, is what the intention is: this simply going to be a head turner? If so, I can definitely imagine it'll accomplish that. I'm also sure there will be other cars that eventually end up with similar mods.

Another question I have though, is how does it feel now? I got this car because I wanted something that literally felt like I was on the ground. How's it feel now that you've added 1.5" of height? Doesn't really sound like much, still makes me a little curious though.

I really have no interest in bigger wheels though, I actually kind of wishthe stock wheels were smaller but had fuller tires that filled everything out somewhat like how some miatas look.
Shouldn't raise it up with 30 series sidewalls. 225/30-20 would be about the same diameter as 225/45-17.

Fortunately I don't build cars for the approval of others, I build what makes me happy. That having been said, I am amused by the negative comments by people who don't own a FR-S or BRZ. The only reason I posted this is because I've seen a lot of debate about whether or not 20's will work on these cars. I bought this car new as a 50th birthday present to myself and it will always be a work in progress. It has already changed since these photos.

Within the next year this will have new suspension, a supercharger, and probably new seats. Anyway, if you have questions about how I did something, I welcome it. If you want to hide behind a keyboard with your mean comments, I am sorry for you.

These are amazing cars and I hope to connect with people who share my love for this car.

Best wishes from Billings Montana

For an older chap, I think doing what you feel great about is the way to go. I'm actually surprised how well everything goes together with such large wheels. And I'm grateful you had the balls to experiment and give the forum community a chance to see what a radical FRS change looks like.

I'm still waiting to see one on monster truck tires! And from the rumors I hear it might not be that far off!

If you get down to the nitty gritty you are doing more than hurting the handling (which affects the safety)

Do some research or what happens when you increase the contact diameter of the tires without compensating for the needed increase in brake force (sorry brembo covers don't actually improve brake performance)

you are actually endangering everyone around you with your "fashion" choices,

LLabel me a hater, I don't care about your opinion any more than you probably care about mine, but atleast consider the FACTS, not to mention I know those aren't snow tires, and there is obviously already snow on the ground and sub-Zero temps (ice on your side skirts...) so you are making lots of choices to endanger everyone around you.

Even though I do like the color scheme, the overall design is polarizing, so it's sure to get a lot of attention and responses.

not that i dont like the wheels but they just are too big .. it looks like a 4x4 which is the opposite of what that car should look like
