I contacted Weathertech Canada last week. They told me they don't even have the liner/mat on the production list yet. Even after they decide to have it on the production list, it won't be another 4 months until you can buy it.

I ended up buying some FR-S mats off someone and they are perfect. The texture at the bottom is shallow and fades out before the middle and the top is essentially smooth plastic. Doesn't get in the way of the pedals or my heel and my wife [who is much shorter] can move the seat way up without adjusting the mat. They lock in also so they don't slide around. It feels like I'm still using the carpet mats.

They aren't actually available for order unfortunately, and no date for when they will be available to order is known. Your best bet is to find an FR-S owner who bought aftermarket winter mats for better coverage or is only summer driving it.

I've been using these for a couple years (transferred them over from my last car). Prepare for hate, the Pants Saver tread safety car mat:
![]() They're wide enough that you get coverage left to right as well as front to back. Ugly as hell, but they work. |

Only Canadian FR-S owners got them and they had to sign a waiver that if they use different winter mats that Toyota is not responsible (it's all to cover their ass from the "unintended acceleration" stuff). Subaru has no history of such incidents, so their lawyers weren't worried enough to send us winter mats.

I forgot to mention, but the dealer also gave me another part number for it, after I gave him the original long one: 79317

In less happy news, last night the door of the Esso automatic car wash on 17th malfunctioned and came down early, heavily denting the roof of my car. I still had time left on the blower but for whatever reason it came down anyway (I've left after zero on the timer before and never had the door come down, so it was weird that even with time it would drop). So now the rear bumper (from the hit and run) and roof need replacing. At this rate I'm going to have a whole new car by next year! The Esso guys were real diсks about it too, playing dumb and refusing to give any kind of contact info (even the manager's name). I had a witness, so I'm getting insurance to try and go after them. The cops said it's private property so it's a civil matter that they can't intervene in, and that the tiny disclaimer on the car wash entrance sign will probably fuck me over in the end, which is ridiculous because it's not like a damaged spoiler or antenna like the sign appears to imply is not covered.

that sign on the outside of the car washes is usually directed at the wash it self, not at malfunctioning doors.
I hope you get everything sorted out |

Thanks, that was my thought too! The cops were pretty useless. They also told me I shouldn't trust the door and should leave faster in case the door closes early, even if there is time on the timer. I've used touchless auto washes hundreds of times and never had this happen or even seen it happen. It's hard to photograph because of the reflective paint, but it's dented on both roof bulges and scraped all across (I can feel it through the headliner).

I can see the dent on those pictures
that totally sucks man. The cops were right though as it's a civil matter and wont get involved unless you can prove the station was at fault and somehow sent the doors down early. The doors are on a timer but from the station I used to work at when i was a teen it didn't go down for 30 seconds after the fans stopped blowing. |
