Just got my new taillight on Friday... This now means I've had 5 different tail lights on my car. Hopefully my new ones won't suffer the same fate as the last 3

At the same time the weather has been getting colder and wetter. I'll keep an eye on it and see if it comes back, but with my car being number 4461, the tail light issue should have been taken care of in production, correct? Besides this and a few subtle/intermittent interior door panel rattles I have problem-free car so far (first 500 miles).
How do you know what number your car is? VIN?

Is that the number that were produced during that month of production or overall? I couldn't imagine it would be overall of all the ones built if mine was built in September and my last four are 0777. Theirs no way it was the 0777th one built from April/May till now.

Need some clarification.

Thanks.

I guess there on back order or something. My dealer just ordered a passenger side tail light for me and said it won't arrive until mid January.
I don't understand why they just don't do a recall on the passenger side tail light.

Maybe it's the last 5 digits now.... are the last 5 digits 10777? I'm not really sure how it works.

Whattttt? I just got my passenger TL fixed on Friday... ordered Monday last week.

And they won't do a recall because not all TL's are affected. And just because they order you a new one doesn't mean that new one won't also fog up with condensation. I had my driver's side TL replaced 2 times because the replacement also was defective.

Ouch, my TL at least lasted a month lol. Don't worry though, It's a pretty painless fix and only takes about an hour

Yea, its not that bad. Going back out to it after work it was gone. But it was there, so it will be a worse problem sooner or later. Good thing I snapped a quick pic at the time. Already asked the dealer to get one on order for me...

Yeah, according to the VIN decoder thread, it was always the last 5 digits.
