Saturday's Twisted Sisters Drive

Did ya ever wonder why a lot of really good things often come in pairs?

Like two pairs of awesome wheels and tires for sale by @pcasso87.... Dang!

Anyone out there want to buy these two pairs....for me????

Or, like a pair of MOTIV exhaust pipes with a overpipe group buy and catted downpipe Cyber Monday sale both at the same time….Sweet!
(Guess what I'll be doing today!)

A pair of sales on a pair of pipes. What a deal!

.....And then, I get an email Saturday telling me that the next Monday after cyber Monday (Yesterday) a brand spanking new SWP BRZ 6MT Ltd will show up at NP Subaru with my name on it (one on the right) …. Get a load of this pair!
... looks almost like they are twin sisters, don't it? …. Bad to the Bones!
The new owner emailed me and said he couldn't stop staring at his new BRZ in his driveway Monday evening!!!! I told him to turn the lights off and go to bed...I guess he went back inside the house....

And speaking of bed, ugh.....staring, oh, pairs.....how about this double pairs of …. Rocket Bunnies .... er Davalos twins?

Almost makes ya wanna drive your ….

...Toyobaru on “The Three Sister’s” 86 Recon Drive Sat. Dec 8 – AKA Twisted Sisters! Pardon my "twisted" humor...

Saturday's Twisted Sisters Drive

For some, it might be short notice and like everyone else, I’ve got other stuff I need to do this weekend but, how about a little adventure / driving time to put some interesting scenic miles on your 86?

The SWP BRZ "bad to the bone" twin sisters are gonna recon the famous motorcycle cruise route known as the "Twisted Sisters". If you can run away in your 86 car Saturday morning, please join us, we will meet up at the Whataburger in Boerne, Texas between 8:00 to 8:30 AM for a quick breakfast snack perhaps to give people time to meet up and then depart for Medina, Texas at 8:45 AM sharp.

The Whataburger we will meet at is at HWY 46 and IH10. When exiting IH10 at HWY46 from San Antonio turn left on 46 and go over the freeway. Access to Whataburger can be made by turning back onto the access road and into Chilis or turn into HomeDepot from HWY46 and make your way to the Whataburger.

From Whataburger we’ll take HWY 46 to HWY 16 travelling through Bandera and arrive in Medina, Texas. If anyone wants to drive out Bandera Rd. and meet up with us in Medina we should be there at about 9:40AM. We'll stop at The Apple Store for a brief break.

The Three Sisters route starts in Medina, TX. From Medina we’ll catch RR337 heading west until we come up on the town of Leakey.

At Leakey, we’ll go north on US 83 for a just about a mile and then hit RR336. We’ll take a left onto RR336 which will head us north. We’ll continue north on RR336 until we meet Texas 41 and at this point turn left in order to head west.

We’ll go west for 15 miles or so and find RR335 on the left. We’ll take a left (east) and get on RR335 and drive south down to Camp Wood where we’ll take a left on to RR337 and finish out the loop when we hit Leakey again.

From Medina, the cruise is suppose to be about 131 miles. Make sure you have plenty of fuel in your car as gas stations are few and far between they say. We are gonna be out in the boonies for sure. I'm gonna just top off my tank when I get to Boerne.

Bring a camera. If we see any good spots to stop and enjoy the scenic view and take some group photos we’ll do so. Also, there may be an opportunity to stop for lunch somewhere but, bring drinks and snacks just in case we don't see anything. We’re pretty much gonna play it by ear. Suggestions and tips are welcomed.

When we hit Leakey again our group ride is over and everyone is on their own to return home.

Doing the “Twisted Sisters” cruise might not be as fun as ... say the Devalos Twins ... but, driving our 86s on some twisties might come close!!!!!
PM me if you can make it.

If anyone out there is still waiting for their 86 car to arrive, I’ll have room for a front seat passenger if you want to tag along for some adventure!

So you'll be a perfect person to ask.. How did the handling characteristics of the car change when running a staggered tire setup like that?

And did you notice a change in acceleration from running a taller tire?

Under normal driving you really dont notice a difference even if you push it hard. I drifted a bit on these one day just to see the change in control and i did notice a bit that the front did not respond as good as it did with the square setup tough it was not that bad.

Was your track setup square or staggered?
