They might down engineer the drivetrain to save some money?
It's super strong as proven by 520hp at the wheels currently, which is over 3x stock output. The early models may prove to be the ones best suited to being modified. |

Any speculations as to what we're going to see in terms of changes for 2014 on the FR-S?
Things I'm hoping for more than anything: Push button start HID's I'd be willing to pay a little higher, almost as much as the BRZ Limited, if it came with those features, because I do prefer the suspension, and general styling of the FR-S more than the BRZ. |

Check out the spec and ask them to option it up or you will buy something else. Nothing to lose. http://www.toyota.com.au/86/specifications/gts-manual |

Sorry, I should have italicized word on the street to show my sarcasm. I don't think there will be significant changes to 2014. Maybe different fuel pump to eliminate the chirp, or change the manufacturing process of the tail lights to eliminate the condensation.

Plus, I don't want the greater amount of understeer in the BRZ. I've test driven both the FR-S and the BRZ. They're both great but the BRZ feels numb compared to the FR-S. Also, I don't NEED the turbo, I'd just rather have something that'll make my daily commute easier, and a little more enjoyable. Like I mentioned earlier, a push button start, and HID's (because they just look better). Last edited by kALMIGHTY; 11-30-2012 at 03:34 PM. Reason: Forgot to add an important point. |

Mine will come like that and I have the option of swapping the dealer demo alloy spare and cover but the flat floor is such a bonus I might source a space saver instead. Everything else is there, jack etc. Procrastinating at the moment with 3 weeks to go. ![]() Quote:
As for the turbo, it would need to preserve the NA characteristics or it would spoil the car IMO. When they released this car they said that any future factory performance modifications would be available to existing owners. They would be designed to be retro fitted. I remember that clearly because it influenced my decision to buy a new model. It was someone in Japan. |

The dealership that I spoke to said that I could come in during January and put in my order (not before then). I would guess that this means the "2014" models will be out by May or June. Something like that.
