Thats usb, lightning is at the other end of the cable. I think the third party is still unable to copy apples technology, but belkin has paid apple for the rights im still waiting for cheap ebay lightning cables that are >2.8ft long... Why are they so short?!

If you've got a long enough USB cable, you can also plug a USB car adapter into the glove box and wire up from there.

Something like this:

And you can get a 6' or 10' cable from Monoprice for less than $2.
