Simples really when you think about it

Maybe they're just trolling? Trying to keep people guessing until the official unveil in Tokyo?

Also the MkII is a hatchback whereas the MkI is a coupe and the production version will likely be a coupe.

The pic on that billboard makes the car look unattractively stubby.

I have to remind myself that the rumor calls for an approx. 102-in. wheelbase.

+1

I think the overall look of the mule has more of a mkII/fr-s style, but will fit into the mk1 dimensions and such, as according to that interview

I think it is just the picture that squished the whole billboard down

This is nothing more than Toyota of Australia trying to drum up some hype for the ft86, nothing new about it

It's not the billboard angle, it's the car's photo angle...

in that picture of the car, the whole front end look bulbous and obnoxious, far more than it you saw it from full side angle, it's the perspective in the camera

Is Toyota Aus. STILL using the "Oh what a feeling!" slogan in their advertisements? Thats from the freekin' 80's!

Or is this billboard just using it as a nod back to the era which spawned the FT-86's inspiration?

The general public (of which this forum is a fractional amount) will only care about a sexy car and the Toyota symbol beside it. As such, I don't think the marketing teams in the various Toyota markets give a damn about whether their presenting the most accurate version of the FT86
