You're not missing out on anything. Seriously. There's no way this guy is going to rack up 4k in damages that will cover what he paid for. Unless he is seriously confident he is going to be offroading this car and taking it up on curbs to damage it. Just like someone said earlier, this money ends up being almost full profit for dealerships. BIG waste of money. OP i would say try and get your money back. if you are so worried bad things will happen to your car just keep the 4k in your account ready to be used if needed......

That must be a dealer offered thing. They don't offer any such services at the Toyota dealerships around here.
$4k seems a bit steep considering your average door ding size dent is only $120-$150 to have removed from a PDR guy. Interior touch-ups and such also would take a lot of work to add up to $4k. I had Platinum Toyota Care on my xB and it came in handy for a few things, but it was considerably less than $4k. Although it doesn't cover the incidental damages like the package the OP has. If you're prone to these sorts of damages then the package may be worth it, but if not... I'd just pass on it.

Cancel them all. Money will be applied back to the loan then refinance. That will save you 60 month. Even gap insurance, most have it on their insurance already. I got the mechanical warranty only.

I'm always amazed at what people will buy when they go into the "business managers" office to finalize a deal.
Bottom line on this stuff is: Unless it is fully backed by the manufacturer of the vehicle it is nothing more than "fluff" the BM gets paid a nice comission on. They sale those "packages" for a reason and the reason isn't "customer care" it's lining their pockets. |

Lol I love these people who say, "I paid $4000 and now I get all these free services." It's like, really, so your $4000 was just a friendly donation and has nothing to do with these "free" services?
I spent $26,000 and got this free car! Great deal. I was so lucky to get a free car. |

the only one i went for was the 10 year extended warrenty which includes roadside assistance.
i thouht about it and said no which prompted him to knock 500 off the price. ended up paying all together $1,680 for it. with it being a first production year car and a brand new engine i decided to go for it. smart move at that price? |

Those are usually third party contracts offered through the dealership...as noted all those items on the protection sheet are the number one thing the dealer makes money on. Check over your documents carefully...if you buy the highest priced protection (I'll assume that's the $4k) it usually includes all of the lower protections, so gap coverage, market value protection, etc. When I waived mine the F&I guy said, "well if you can't afford it..." I just looked at him and laughed.
If anyone wants this kind of waranty (because they are third party you can add them anytime), ask next time you're in for service. If it's a big stealership they probably offer it or can find out the info for you. Also check with your insurance company, some higher premiums include services like dent removal and don't affect your rate (like full glass coverage). |

If you do enough damage to the wheels, tires and seats to break even on the $4k upcharge, you have likely totalled the car since I assume a 4 wheel curb impact would damage a few other things along the way.
Lot of local car clubs will have dent removal parties where everyone meets up with the paintless guy and for a few bucks he will fix the dents. It's pretty easy to find reasonable interior repair guys who will come to you (these guys are usually mobile since they work mainly at dealers). I'm not sure what repairs a wheel guy could do on-site other than taking a black paint pen to the curb rash or maybe filling it in with JB weld. -Justin

Does the 4k cover extended warranty?
There are alot of guys ripping you on here, and you might have overpaid some but don't lose sleep over it. I paid 1.5k for a 6 year 75k mile extended warranty and also 500 for 5 year tire and wheel damage. I was offered tire and wheel damage on my 335 1k+ when I bought it and said no way I don't curb tires. About a year later, I hit a long pothole about 2 inches deep going 40mph. Bent two rims and had to replace two tires. $1200. Also have had 3 tires with nails. $250 each tire. The tires on this car are alot less, but so is the warranty. |
