Already ordered and confirmed with japanparts via email that they will fit with the Subaru rear diffuser.

For me, I don't care bout 17 vs 18 or 19 stuff. I gonna test both 17's & 18's w different tires to fit for my need. If 18's give me the traction & movement I want w suspension setup I buy them, I'm totally go w 18's... but crossing my fingers, I'm hoping for 17's. 18 tires aren't cheap
I think the perfect magic size I saw was the Enkei RPF1 in a 18x9.5 with +38

I know they're a bit too wide, but they look sooo good

I'll find the member who has them up soon

Which wheel size? 17 or 18? If 18 w non stagger than 8.5. If you're going 18 w stagger than F18x8 R18x9 37 offset like Moto-san

Anyone know the stock 17" wheel weight?

I believe it was 20.x lbs. Like 20.1 or 20.6... around there.

And I calculated the STI wheel weight by subtracting weights measured on 2 different scales not necessarily calibrated the same. So I wouldn't call it accurate but it's the best figure we have for now.

You are correct! 20.1 lbs per several pieces of photographed evidence from various forum members, Scooby South being one of them.

I'm still on the fence about the STI wheels. I'd want 18". I kind of don't mind 7.5 width because I actually ENJOY "drifting" on smaller wheels. Everybody keeps going for ULTIMATE GRIP, but in my mind that's more reserved for cars with more torque. For autox I do want much wider wheels, but for everyday driving, I'm actually okay with narrower wheels.

If I do get STI wheels I'm thinking silver since I have a black BRZ.

I can't be the only one that prefers a little looseness in the rear, right?

So...going to 18" STI wheel save about 2lbs ea, 8 lbs total.
Wonder it can save 9lb or more on STI 17"?

( but then the whole STI lips, skirts, etc add back 10 lbs?)

switchlanez wheels are 17x7.5, which are 18.4lbs each, as revealed several posts down. For 18" no one knows for sure, but we presume just north of 20lbs, so comparable to the stock 17x7 wheels, except they'll be 18x7.5 for the STI wheels. That's not too bad if you're not looking for ultimate grip, like mentioned before, and want the look. switchlanez has stated that he prefers to stick with 17" since it's a good weight-saver at that size.

To me, having 18" and a tiny bit more width while still retaining the stock wheels weight isn't terrible, but I could definitely see the appeal of saving more weight. My only argument is that this car is plenty of fun with the stock wheels already, so I wouldn't mind continuing the fun with 18x7.5 with slightly lighter TIRES.

You point out exactly and thanks. Plenty of fun as it is now and not sure if I want more grip with 7.5 either in 17 or 18. Thinking back, Toyota/ Subaru was on purpose to use that thin tire now....besides, it is so costly to buy 4 and just to find out if i like otherwise...

Perhaps Switchlanez can be kind enough to share the experience and compare ?
