Just an update. I performed the "Lowe's Noise Generator Delete" and added a Blox Reverse Lockout adapter. It isn't needed for the knob to fit, it just helps cover the white plastic on the shifter.

Was the perrin shift knob made out of metal or is it a rubbery finish?

It's metal or faux metal, but not very weighted. I prefer the Blox knob myself

Pics of the additions/subtractions

Blox knob with the Blox Reverse Lockout Adapter. Again, Blox knobs work with our shifter out of the box, but this cleans up the look.

1 1/4in PVC cap for the sound tube, intake side.

3/4in poly plug in the firewall side of the sound tube. You can see its position relative to the tranny and exhaust.

Sound Generator Delete parts were all acquired from Lowe's Plumbing Department for less than $10. Have to thank JimmyMac for posting the info here: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...7&postcount=45

Painted my intake cover with some red rustoleum spray paint. Might try to hit it with some clear tomorrow. Anyway, here it is.

So this just covers up that space below the knob? So you don't see the white nylon. I wonder if this will work with my MXP knob.

Reverse lock out works just fine with it?

Yes, it covers the white nylon and reverse lockout is fine. Should work with any knob. I got my adapter at FT86Speedfactory.
