Is the car worth the cost of the associated parts...well if you tried to piece this car together piece by piece from Toyota part numbers then hell yes, i think it comes out to some ball park figure of $35k if you were to buy the parts individually and put one together even then i still think that number is low considering the costs associated with some of the parts *cough* BRZ headlights *cough*.

Then take into account the absolute blast this car is to drive, modify, and just sit in the garage and admire and you get a hell of a steal. Not to mention how many people love the car and feel the need to let you know everytime you stop somewhere.

It's funny you say that because I was at the gas station filling up a week or so ago when two people passed by me to stop and ask me if the car was "as fast" and "as fun" to drive as people say they are. It's definitely noticed wherever you go.

NO, it's not. Don't pay that 3k mark-up just for the dumb stereo and spoiler. Your dealer is trying to get some extra cashflow off of you. Get one "Stock" and it's 100% worth it.

If you take the driving component out of the equation and just look at the FRS as options and parts on a piece of paper than no the car isn't worth it at all

IMO tho the twins are one of those cars were the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

Might not be the car for you

I've only owned it for a week but so far I say yes! It's fun to drive like my Boss just in a different...more gas friendly way.

If you have to ask you dont get it. Save your money and let someone more passionate about the car have it. There arnt enough of them out there for everyone.

I love the interior, materials are very good in my opinion and driving experience is worth every penny. I wasn't even shopping for a car but had to test drive it after the reviews started coming out, i looked for about 3 weeks after that trying to find one and bought the first one i found in a color that was acceptable to me.

Oh no I'm just trying to justify it to my parents. They aren't seeing the value. I've been following this car since it was mentioned. I'm a college sophomore btw. I'll start off with a lease and turn that into a buy.

Well obviously. The parts compiled will almost always cost less than individual parts. That's just a general rule to pretty much everything.

There are dealer knick knacks and stuff in there, but still, that's not happening. The spoiler and paint is all that is wanted.

I bought mine completely stock with no accessories or upgrades and I paid about 25k before tax. If the car only has a spoiler and no other upgrades then I would say no, it's not worth it. However I only say that compared to what I paid.

This vehicle was not made with all the bells and whistles. It's all about the driving experience. That's what Toyota and Subaru were going for. That is what you're paying for. You won't find it at that price anywhere else. If that's not what you're looking for, then this is not the car for you. Go find a lexus or something.

The driving experience IS the car itself!

We got a quote for ~$27,000 for a MT Pearl White FR-S with BeSpoke and stock spoiler. (I honestly didn't even know there was a spoiler option.) I don't want the BeSpoke, but this was for a car that was on the way so why not ask.

Either way, do you really think this car is worth the $26K-$28K?

What do you get? A boxer engine... wheels, which all cars come with... The interior is nice, but the dash looks cheap. Take the knobs for example. They scream cheap! You're not paying for excess power (because there isn't any ). What are you really getting?

This is not about RWD, fun aspect, or anything like that. This is purely about what you get in/with the car.

I am being completely serious, and would like to know what you guys and girls think.

Kev
If you have driven the car and are still questioning whether the car is worth it, this car is likely not for you.

I personally don't understand how you couldn't be in love with the car after driving it, but, obviously you aren't. Not everyone has to like the same things.

Have you driven anything else to provide a basis of comparison?

Most of you are missing the point here. Yes I like the car. Yes I am getting it. I don't want a damn Veloster, Genesis, 350/370z or IS250.

Do any of you guys/girls ever think, "oh I wish I had that"?

Just explain the following to your parents: the FR-S/BRZ provides you the closest driving experience to a Porsche Cayman S for 1/2 the price....

All you need to know:
