It's like when you put really bad gas in a car and take off, applying load and the car makes a clank, clank, clank noise, just that mine is while reving, rev matching, pretty much any sudden firm slap of the gas pedal and the sound is at a higher pitch and frequency due to that is at higher rpm's. My car had one of the first tunes out and didn't do this, once i installed the latest one, i noticed the sound while downshifting and rev matching(quick accel kick). I'll try and make a video and i'll get a few more logs under load to see the problem persists. Thanks for the support guys.

Just a guess, but that kind of sounds like the throttle plate slamming closed when you let off the throttle. Not saying it's normal, but that's what it sounded like to me. Have you tried to identify where the sound is coming from in the engine bay?

Yeah I agree... maybe not slamming closed since it's revving and would be open, but it does sound like something mechanical is "catching". I don't believe that's knock, but I can certainly see the sensor picking it up.

Edit: It's hard to tell, but it could be throttle slamming closed if you are instantly releasing after stabbing the throttle or perhaps reaching the end of its travel on open?

I just flashed back to stock and the noise went away. Its tough to really diagnose the sound over a sound or video file but in person it just sounds like the clanking noise when an engine is stalling or running on bad gas, just much higher pitch since its at high rpms'. Thanks for the feedback guys.

If you looked at the logs you could see pretty quickly if there is an issue with knock or narrow down how the car is acting at those times.

Yeah, I got that knock, too, if you're referring to the metallic rattling noise.

Holy shit! thats the same f***ing noise i have swear to God. And it only happens when u punch the gas and then it goes away..It happens to me tune or no tune.I mentioned it to the dealer and they dont know what it is. I thought it was related to the cel issue. So its not the tune, cuz even when im stock i have the issue. I thinking its something with the intake, maybe with the throttle body opening and closing i dunno

Yeah that metallic rattling thing, lol there are three noises in that video, the infamous cricket from the fuel pump, the stock intake and its suction noise and the rattle/knock/valve slap sounding thing. So what exactly is this? I just flashed with the stock tune and it eliminated it by about 90% but i still get it sometimes when i puch the gas and the intake suction noise happens.

Do some logs and send them to him via the support console. When you have the log then open it by double clicking on it and look at with the 2D view tab to see the knock and how the car is running at that moment.

I actually have a couple of logs, see for your selfs if you guys are interested. I dont have much experience with these but i clearly see knock anytime the throttle is opened quickly.

The thing is that i dont have an intake, im stock, completely except with the flash.!! damn it lol. So if it isn't the tune, then that noise is creating noise and the knock sensor is picking it up.

The cricket noise for me is gone so far. The intake sucking noise is normal but that rattle isnt normal. It started happening to me at about 1000 miles right before i did my first oil change. I thought it was the hks intake filter moving around in the intake box when ever i press the gas hard enough. Then when i reverted back to the stock filter it still happened. I dont think its something with the engine. I think its something with the throttle body

Mine did it on stock intake or my custom intake...Dont mean to turn this into a issue so maybe we can move this to issues/recall section but synack you should post the video in the issues thread and see if other people have noticed the noise. AVO did some digging around and they believe the cams get stuck at idle and this is probably happening to us. curious to see if other people with the cel issue heard this noise before the cel came on. I drove like this for about 2500 before my cel ever came on

You probably shouldn't be mashing the throttle repeatedly on an unloaded engine. It's tuned on a loaded engine where it doesn't spin-up as fast and there is time for the engine controls to retard knocking. Does it knock just as bad at highway speeds when you mash the throttle with the car in gear?
