I'm intrigued to see what further tuning/twin screw options produce.

It doesn't matter to me right now, as I'm waiting until spring since my car is going away for winter before any of these kits will be available. I think a lot of people are in the same boat.
Some of us can't get E85. There aren't any stations within 25 miles of me, and I'm certainly not driving an hour round-trip to Rockville to get fuel.

Really? In Baltimore? That's surprising, there are 4 stations within 10 miles up here in Boston. I would have thought that Baltimore/DC Metro would have had more than that.

I'm intrigued by the twinscrew solution and being able to run full boost earlier than 7400 RPM (much like a turbo). Couple that with an even more simplistic install....and yea....

There are 2 places listed in Baltimore, but they are both government fleet fueling centers, not open to us plebes.

There are less than 2 dozen E85 pumps in all of Maryland, and I think almost half of them are government/private - Social Security, Goddard Spaceflight, Ft Meade, Andrews AFB, County Govs...

None of the ones that are open to the public, as far as I know, are convenient to Ellicott City/Howard County/Baltimore. Most of them are down by DC - Rockville, Bethesda, Gaithersburg, and Germantown. The closest one that I found is 15 miles from me, in the opposite direction from work (and I'm not 100% sure it's open). In any case, not worth it for me to drive down there every time I need fuel.

yeah...maryland is, in many ways, worse than Virginia in the "move along, subject" type stuff. People have gotten what they voted for in SPADES in this state.

thats true, its not worth the price but half of the things they sell for this car are over priced a bit anyway. the stock pulley would be weak but im driving this idea on them making overdrive pulleys to up boost maybe 10psi.
i didnt know the operating ranges were so low that is bad especially seeing as the car makes its power after 5500

At 4500ft I will need the different pulley, just to make the same power as you sea level guys.

I would like to see this in my BRZ.

This was 20.5psia (around 8psi sea level). On my Super sentra SR20VE. I would love to see this power from the BRZ. Maybe not quite as much as long as it is simple and reliable. I'll likely be running a lower boost to keep the clutch alive until I get a new one. But 300+ whp is where things get really really fun for me.

Is anyone worried about belt slippage on the SC offerings?

I am a turbo guy, but I see the vortech setup and I'm thinking it would be good. But I also have reservations about a kit that only makes peak psi at max rpm.

Well thats what i have on my Toyota 2 litre small Rotrex SC with more bottom end at 15 psi.

Now after tuning next week with the biggest Rotrex we will see. BTY the Biggest Rotrex still is smaller than the Vortech.

Slippage of the belt wont happen if you use at least a 6 Vee and proper belt wrap like i have done its nearly 300 degrees

Other thing is that i dont use atomatic tensioner THAT WILL SLIP. Hope the vortech kit has changed that ? to a constant pressure tensioner

If you're a turbo guy, stay turbo. There's no reason to go SC if you're used to that kind of power.

This. Superchargers are great if you want to have a super easy no fuss install and just give the platform a little more 'oomph'. A turbo is what you use to actually make power.

Nothig is wrong with either choice, but turbo cars are always gaster and make more power and tq than a superharged equivelant. Talk about 'poor drivability' with a turbo is all bs.

In other words, get what is going to accomplish your goals, but if making power is your goal, go with a turbo.

Although I do agree with this for the most part, I have to disagree with the remarks to power production.

I've seen several 2.0L engines making over 400whp with a supercharger. And a lot of them don't push over 14psi.

A Supercharger can make over 350whp. But it takes the supporting mods to do so.
