I should have taken some video in the Robispec car ;( Can someone post a photo??? There where tons of people taking pics of that thing...
It was good meeting you. I really should have went for a ride along with you. I'd love to see what your stock FRS was capable of.

Oh yeah, well maybe next time. Let me know when you plan on coming out again and I'll bring the FR-S back out. I don't plan on doing much except tires for now anyway. Good meeting all you guys - I can't wait to get mine back on the track again.

I'm hoping to get back out there in Dec, most likely the 29th or 30th. Have to see how the work schedule goes.

Few things I noticed about your video:
-Never, ever pass someone on the inside of a corner without a point-by (which I suppose you may have gotten and was blocked by the mirror) and even then, it's frowned upon unless you're running advanced or they have mechanical difficulties. Not only did you pass when you weren't supposed to (assuming there was no point by), but you were off-line and slowed his exit. I would've been fuming and probably would've told you so after we pitted.
-Your line through the bowl could be much better. You can come in hot and use the banking to scrub the car while mitigating over-rotation, but you can't come in that low and still come out fast.
When running CCW, slower cars, a category into which the ZN6/ZC6 fall, as does my track car, can use the double-apex method at the bowl, which I've found to be at least a second faster for me. It's worth some experimentation for others.
-You occasionally saw at the wheel, which upsets the car's balance and costs you grip. Smooth, "slow" inputs will make you faster. With every input you should be "feeding, feeding, feeding."
-The majority of your apexes are too early. I'd recommend going with later apexes and then moving them earlier as you learn the track. Your goal is to make the straights as long as possible, and to maximize your speed out of the corners before the most important straights. That will yield your best lap times.
-Use all the track. Leftovers cost you time.

In Chris's defense:

- It was indeed an open passing group
- I wouldn't trust those tires to carry me to the edge of the bowl either, especially the first few laps. They offer no feedback with all the tread squirm
- Habit from.... rear steering the car
- Are you sure that's momentum car advice for CCW?

I went on both lines in the bowl and the tight line is over a second faster...slower car you want to run shortest line. also going up hill under braking really slows up the car
Robispec car times were 1:29.2 on this day on the tight line (thank you Mike) I rolled a 1:29.5...getting old I guess.

You guys had way faster times then me. I was 1:40 in a completely stock car. First time on this track in a decade and CCW.

Anyhow, one more item in BeltedBiscuits defense. He was intentionally oversteering the car. He was testing to see how far he could push the stock tires. And he's trying to wear them out as fast s possible to help justify the purchase of new ones.

Just an FYI.

For 2013 there will be a Toyota Time Attack. It will be open to any car running a Toyota based engine.

The website and rules will be up soon.

ExtremeSpeed has agreed to host the west coast events.
