I wonder why it doesn't extend back further to the control arms; seems like they're leaving a lot of space on the table for air to create turbulence. I wonder how hard it would be to adapt to a different exhaust system.

Now this is a true diffuser. Not that "rear bumper lip mold" crap that looks like the tail end of a diffuser and just catches air behind the bumper. Looks nice. Not as much coverage as I'd like but its def multitudes better than anything else out there at this time. And Aluminum is great for diffusers. Wont shatter or break off if you come off a curb a bit fast. Its better that way.

No I like Japanese brand name cars and those brand names on my car... Thus the Subaru. If you cant accept that people have other opinions then you have issues. I'm not saying you have to accept or agree with what I think... You like it, great! I don't, whoopity freaking doo! If you put this on your car its yours and if that's what you like great. I'll still think you have some recycled coke cans and that's my opinion. I have better things to do than deal with @$$holes who can't accept difference of opinions.

The sound on the video is horrible. Sounds just as bad as the other video in the other section of the forums and you can barely make out the sound from the horrible quality.
My question is what is the point of the diffuser? Does it add sound or something? I dont understand since the sound is so bad in that video. Is it just for looks or is their a purpose and change the sound of the Borla Exhaust in any way. |

If the diffuser sits lower, I think it will look better.

I am a little worried about heat in this application. Won't the diffuser act as a heat shield and send more exhaust heat up toward the car?

Our Exhaust Diffuser is both an aesthetic accessory and functional component. It does not change the acoustics of our exhaust and does not trap heat below the truck area.
The (4) subtle track-inspired fins are styled and positioned to compliment the factory valence elements. Our Exhaust Diffuser is finished in a neutral silver powder coat finish it is easily removed for those wanting to color match it to their vehicle. The Exhaust Diffuser covers more surface area and is lighter than the transverse muffler it replaces. The benefit is reduced turbulence rear of the axle with no weight penalties. Our cat-back + Exhaust Diffuser combined is lighter than the factory cat-back! And there's no modification to any factory body panels as our exhaust diffuser mounts directly to our Borla cat-back exhaust PN-140496. We've received positive feedback from track-intended owners and those looking for a subtle race-inspired accessory. It may not be for everyone but it only fits a Borla cat-back exhaust. Thanks again for your interest in Borla! |
