If you're going to compare it to anything, the prototype or the mk2 concept is the best bet, since the final product is supposed to be closest to the second concept.

Please try to look at what is actually out there rather than crummy photochops.

The last thing I want is to end up with a car that only has some of what I want in it and in a color I don't really care for because that's what they had on the lot.

How does that "pure pricing" thing work? One price, take it or leave it? Like buying a loaf of bread?

And does that mean there will be no "bumper sticker" pricing on the cars when they first hit the showrooms and everybody wants one?

In all truth the FT-86 and FR-S and the same car but the concept car for the FR-S looks just like the TC, I dont want a car that looks like something else I was a ride that is easy to spot and recognized as what it is.

Skyline, Supra, Corvette, even the Copper if you see any of them you'll know but the FR-S body looks (for now) too much like the TC.

With that said I do like the concept body for the FR-S and I would drive and enjoy the crap out of it but as said before looks too much like a TC to me.

2011 TC

FR-S

If I ddidnt know better i'd say they were the same.

So is this guy the nominee for most retarded poster, or worst troll?

That's my understanding. I imagine there's some variation from location to location based on local taxes and tag fees. But, you're supposed to be able to walk on to any lot and find the same car for the same price at any dealer. I haven't personally bought a new Scion, so all my info comes second hand. You'd probably have to talk to someone who has bought their Scion new to really find out.

Here's the page from the Scion website:

Thanks, Random.

It's going to be weird if Scion winds up with a hot-selling car and they are forced to sell it at list. We don't normally believe in that kind of fair play in America.

If a government bureau does it it's called price fixing. If a corporation does it it's called pure pricing.

The difference is in bold and makes a difference. A corporation is far more likely to change than the government. Different discussion, don't go offtopic.

Wow, obvious trolling? That's not gonna work here :|.

Price setting is not price fixing. Price fixing involves collusion between parties.

What i got from that article is the reason why i think he mentioned both ft86 and FR-S name plates, is because we know that the North American Model will be called FR-S ..the international model, while still identical may or may not be called a FR-S. It is still an FT86 as far as the globe is concerned.

Okay, but if you keep acting like a bully, nobody's going to want to go to the Junior Prom with you.

just seems he totally messed up the article.

The more I read it, the more I think it is either suggesting a redesign due in 2015, or Toyota releasing FT86 in USA in 2015. If he's just suggesting Toyota releasing the FT86 in 2015 (globally?) he's WAY off the mark lol!

At the moment it's FT86, but yes, nothing is suggesting FT86 as a final name either. FR-S would be cool! I know here in Australia, Toyota has trademarked just '86'. The Celica name is still being thrown around here too.
