The answer is no, otherwise getting parts for my car from local pick yards would be a breeze...always a few AE82's on the lot. Some things are interchangeable, yes, but not with the fronter corolla's of the same era. Because the AE86 is RWD, unlike other corolla's, a lot of parts were not the same. If you drive an SR-5 AE86 then you can snag a bunch of engine components from the FWD rollas, but the 4A-C was a relatively common engine during that time. Have a GT-S with the 4A-GE? It gets way more selective (And I mean super selective...because the 4A-GE in the MR2 was not used in a RWD format, even some 4A-GE parts cannot be swapped between its engine and an AE86 4A-GE). Off the top of my head you can use the steering rack from an AW11, if you're doing a full non-PS setup on the AE86, shocks from a camaro...rear end from an RA Celica GT-S...I'm sure there are more "parts bin" goodies you can interchange, but unfortunately (because the AE82 is so freekin' common in yards), not much is shared between the AE82 and AE86. |

I'm prolly like everyone else when it comes to wondering about what's different between the Sub and scion. I always have The impression that the sub would cost (great thay its under 20k I love that)more but now if the sub is 19 and scion is expected 22k what's the diff between The two unless some how the scion cost less. But that doesn't make sense because of TC. This Is aure trippy.

Based on
{average}Impreza $17.5k-$20.7k; Legacy $20k-$31.4k {average}[($20.7k + $31k) / 2 = $26k] mid range "Premium" BRZ model. That means leather, sound system, power everything and a sport tuned engine, automatic(?). Now, taking into account performance, Impreza 2.5i $17.5k 170HP; Legacy 3.6R $25k 256HP {average}[(170HP + 256HP) / 2 = 213HP], close to the expected hp output of the BRZ. {average}[($17.5 + $25k) / 2 = $21.25k] so [$26K - $2K(auto(?)+"Premium") = $24k] base price, and {average of HP based price and derived base price}[($21.25 + $24k) / 2 = $22.63k] , an estimated base price of mine. lol. I hope we have an option of putting the 256HP boxer in there too.

I understand what you did and where you're coming from, these are not exact but close and generalized. One thing you got to keep in mind on the forums is members are not in the same state of mind as you and average age on this forum is pretty low.
If you did this on a BMW/Subaru/MINI(anything but a Honda or Toyota forum, which this is) forum you'll get a good response, debate or someone dissecting and refining your equation, which you could arguably accept or rebuttal and so on. I just wanted to let you know so you don't get too agitated.

Nice attempt Blur, it was a good exercise in trying to find an answer with Math, but I can't see the logic in comparing HP or luxury trims for this car. We're getting the same HP regardless of trim so . Considering the Scion is a "base" model, I don't see the point of comparing anything beyond base and mid range between the Impreza and Legacy, we're not getting the top end turbo models with this car.

This feels like the right time and place to say that ft86club.com is a pretty cool place. Hope it stays that way.
