And if they can't do it, then just sell me a RWD Celica GT-S for $22k.
2500lbs would be awesome and I think it can be done as well but using your fit as a compasion isnt too fair considering that the FT86 has a good chuck more body than the fit.

hmmm... the scale I was on was a truck scale at the scrap yard. and considering everything I've ever read on the weight of the celica said that it's weight was roughly 2500.

http://www.toyoland.com/cars/celica.html (chart towards the bottom)
http://www.internetautoguide.com/13-...fications.html
http://www.theautochannel.com/vehicl.../russ0019.html

Maybe the calibration was off on the 4 corner scales? Alternately... take off your interior panels. Maybe a former owner was a drug dealer and hid 200 pounds of pot in there.
I'm 5'9 150 lbs and I'm a skinny cat so you must be skinny as shit.

How so? The Fit has a 98-ish inch wheel base. The FT-86 is rumored to be at around 102 inches. And the FT-86 will be much lower in height.

My post was molested while I was out weathering a hurricane lol

Seriously though, I'm expecting 2500 lbs being completely possible, as toyota has done it before with the celica. The only difference is the RWD.

Regardless, I'm excited for the car coming to dealers in march, april-ish!

Wait wait wait, NA, 30,000lbs, RWD, and its price is at $20-25k? No thank you, I would rather buy the 2012 Sti than that version. Subaru always make AWD cars for a cheap price, why not start with this coupe version? I don't get it, the Ft86 will be available for Scion and Subaru, the vehicle will be RWD so what's the different between the models from two different manufacturers, even though they both team up. Something is up, I still believe that Subaru will do something to its premium model, there is no way that will play out. Subaru had produced a coupe Sti version in the 90, so why not bring it back? It won't outsell the sedan version anytime soon.

The Scion's version is less interesting the more I look at it, unless they do something to it but until then it will always be a RWD Scion tc in my eyes(like place the Toyota badge on it haha). I really have high hope in the Subaru's model, a turbocharged, AWD and it's a coupe.... Who doesn't want that? Even if they place the price to $32k and up, I would still buy it.

yeah. At 30,000 pounds, I would pass too. That's big rig territory...

Seriously, just chill and wait for actual specs before going off on a rant as to how shitty the car's gonna be. All the info we have right now says that Subaru's version is going to have the same power train. No turbo. No AWD. So, if you're looking for a 2 door WRX you're either in for a long wait, or you can go and get yourself an old Impreza 2.5 RS.

You're on the wrong forum. It's not going to happen.

It's going to happen. It's called the new WRX and STI, which would be based on this chassis. So you'll still have a lightweight awd turbo car, it just wont look like the "BRZ".

t88, just wait it out, Subaru will release info soon on the next gen WRX/STI.

Hey guys long time reader.. first time poster. (I will go do the introduction thread in a little bit here) I just wanted to chime in here on what the car looks like. One of our members that races Autocross with us was one of the members who got to take a trip up to Chicago to see the coupe. He posted on our forums about it about 3- 4 weeks ago. He did not give much info other then what everyone is saying...

"
I saw the production-spec Subaru version today. Much more stylish than I expected. Struck me as a bit of mini Maserati Granturismo. It is very compact, giving me hope that the curb weight will be low enough for good performance from a normally aspirated 2-liter engine. We were not allowed to take pics, unfortunately.

It's not going to happen, as this forum has absolutely nothing to do with the next gen WRX/STI (it is called Subaru BRZ Forum), and we're talking about the BRZ. He wants AWD/Turbo, this forum is dedicated to a car we know will be neither at launch, and will never be the former in any shape or form.

Not only that but "I'd rather buy the 2012 sti"...well, congrats mate! If you have the dough to slap down on a $35,000 car made from the same company, why are you whining about a starter low $20k RWD coupe not being up to your "par"?

Not a perma-ban? Obvious troll is obvious. Hachi made a mistake there.
