Hi guys,

Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Will, Electrical Engineer, live and work in NoVA.
As far as mods, I'm waiting on my interior and trunk LEDs to arrive. I haven't installed the front license plate yet... maybe I will later if I get harassed too much. I don't like the look of the tow hook relocator.

Anyone worrying about winter tires and such? Last year we barely had any snow and during snowmagedon I had summer performance tires (but AWD) and I did alright. So I don't know if its worth it spending the money on winter tires for this area...

I've got my winters sitting in the storage room at the moment. I'll get them on by the end of the month.

You don't really need snow/ice tires for around here, just a winter performance tire.

i'm running 245/40/17 Continental ExtremeContact DW's right now. If it snows too much I may swap the stock rims/tires back on.

After those blizzards in 2009/2010, I got dedicated snow tires for my other car. I used them once, and that was two days after it had snowed in NY. I havent put them to good use down here.

The FR-S won't see snow though. Id rather not risk damaging it.

On my Si I ran max performance summer tires for the warmer months, and in the winter I wore um, slightly less aggressive max performance summer tires....

While I never had any major issues there, it was also FF. I have two sets of almost identical Rota Torques but sadly they won't fit the FR-S. I'd love to run two sets of tires but don't have the cash at least for now. After I wear my stock tires out I'll probably just get a set of all seasons that have very good stability and response since I value that more than grip most of the time.

Yea, Ive run summer tires through a few winters, including the really bad one in '09. I was actually driving from Leesburg back down to Richmond when the snow started about 20 minutes into my drive. I95 came to a standstill, took about 10hrs to get home.

I got nervous one day when I was coming down the hill into my old development, my brother was driving in front of me. He came to a stop at the intersection, and I just kept sliding right at him. Somehow the car stopped, but I was sweating bullets.

Rage Time

So after I blow leaves off the roof, and then off the driveway, and ending up with a clean spot to detail my car I spend the next two hours meticulously washing and waxing the thing. I just got finished putting wax on when my dad comes out to talk. In the middle of the conversation I mentioned I am going to pull the car up to the house since leaves are falling and I want to minimize them lying on the wax while it dries. My dad mentioned he is taking the leaf blower to the other side of the house. I offer to wash his car as he does. Ok fine.

No sooner than I get in the car to pull it up he starts the leaf blower and proceeds to try and blow the leaves that have managed to fall in the last two hours down the driveway. I start to back up but being thanksgiving, there are other cars in the driveway. I start waving my arms and hollaring "STOP!" He eventually heard me, but not before hitting the only dry patch of pavement and shooting dust all over the damn car.

So now I have a car with an awesome finish coated with wax that has dust and dirt embedded all over it. Blowing it won't get it out, neither will spraying, only washing, which means not only do I undo the last two hours worth of work, but I get to try wash dirt particles that are stuck to the paint, can you say swirls?

Goddam I am so pissed off right now.
