I love the styling of the car and idea behind it, but I'm really having a hard time taking the name seriously. Scion FRS? Subaru BRZ? Are they seriously trying to take the p*?

"What do you drive?", "Oh, I've got a Scion Farce", "Serious? I've got the Bro's. My bro's fully forged...benches around 250-280. It's sic as!"

I don't see that conversation ever taking place in reality.

What other stars/celestial names could Subaru use? Aren't there a few names in the Pleiades Subaru hasn't used yet for a production car?

Quote:
The nine brightest stars of the Pleiades are named for the Seven Sisters of Greek mythology: Sterope, Merope, Electra, Maia, Taygeta, Celaeno, and Alcyone, along with their parents Atlas and Pleione. As daughters of Atlas, the Hyades were sisters of the Pleiades. The English name of the cluster itself is of Greek origin, though of uncertain etymology. Suggested derivations include: from πλεξν pleξn, to sail, making the Pleiades the "sailing ones"; from pleos, full or many; or from peleiades, flock of doves.

Celaeno (Celeno or 16 Tauri) is a star in the constellation Taurus and a member of the Pleaides open cluster of stars. Celaeno is sometimes called the Lost Pleiad,[9] a name alluded to in a poem by Alfred Austin. Star gazers often only see six of the seven Pleiades sisters with the unaided eye because Celaeno, with an apparent magnitude of +5.45, requires clear, dark clear skies to be observed.
That kinda fits with the BRZ being "not quite a Subaru."

I shall unravel the mystery of Scion FR-S, Subaru BRZ. Picture yourself on the assembly line. You're the person who stick the name on the back of the car. They have a jig that you place in the proper location and then you align the three letters in the jig and press.

By standardizing the name they standardize the assembly of placing the name.

Its just the name of the concept car.

Technically FT-86 is still the name of the concept car outside the states. Highly doubt that's going to be its name.

Staggeringly terrible name.

EDIT: Oh, already noted above :p

The name of the concept is different:

Honestly, I'm looking forward to seeing the new chassis display. I already know vaguely what the car looks like. But the chassis layout is more relevant to my interests.
