I don't get it...they're more than likely selling their product line to the highest bidder...twinkies aren't going anywhere.

Pretty much. They do say though, lobbying is the single highest return investment you can make these days in the US. Guess those teacher unions and such aren't going anyway anytime soon. Wonder how much longer the government will keep pretending it has money to pander to them. At least private corporations you know, go bankrupt.

Where is the bailout for these guys? Honestly, don't care for this snack food and the fact that people are willing to pay more than a few bucks raises the question where do you find these people?

If you sort by price, they are going for $10,000,000.00 per box at the high end.

This. Tastykake had the exact same thing happen to them, guess what they're still making? All the people selling them know it, and are hoping the idiots buying won't get wise to it.

Kodak had a failing business model for years (just sell more film). They didn't have a strong professional camera arm (Nikon or Canon) to fall back on.

Hostess and it's twinkies will rise again like a Phoenix.

LOL! Sc3w that! When the zombie apocalypse happen, I'm heading over there in my BRZ (or a horse) and if there's a survivor guarding those; he's dead! The Walking Dead style!

I happened across one package (two twinkies) at a gas station a couple days ago... so I snagged it, just in case the product line isn't picked up by another baker. It was delicious.

*sniff* Goodbye, twinkies.

The majority of time my wife and I eat multi-grain or wheat bread but I have to say that I've enjoyed Wonder bread quite a number of times over the years. Great for egg salad or tuna salad sandwiches!!

I hope no one here was effected by the closing of Hostess Brand products. It's a shame what the unions are doing in this day and age...
