We put quite a bit down... didn't change anything. That said we didn't really try either.

In hindsight we're pretty happy Subaru didn't want to take our money.

Congrats OZ. Looks like coffee and BRZ/FRS (cars) is going to have quite a few paricipants next year. I am thinking Saturday or Sunday mornings at around 10 am when the weather warms up. Took the long way home from work again today. Hopefully this need ends soon so I can cut down on mileage. LOL UPDATE: Shark fin Antenna is in the mail.

so get this. I bring my car into work early to get a parking spot that is isolated and I find what I think is a good one up against the indoor parking garage.

I go out to my car 10 minutes ago and lo and behold, the backend of my car is covered in pigeon crap! Urgh. Didn't think I'd need a carwash less than 24 hrs after taking possession.

anyhow, another question. Last night my car smelled like burning oil a bit. Asked a mechanic buddy and he says it's normal for new cars to smell like that while some coating burns off the engine. Have any of you noticed that when you got your cars?

I look forward to joining you in the spring!
BTW, I already got my Sharkfin antenna a couple weeks ago in Ultramarine - now to get the matching FR-S to go under it ! o_O

Forget Belair... Do not spend your money there. The owner of Belair stole my $1000 deposit and won't give me my money back. Now I have to take him to court. Go to Tony Graham. Belair are thieves.

Just bought my next addition for the car. The raven paint pen for rock chips and scratches, Why? Because the asshole driving the dump truck 115 km/h on the queensway today was dropping rocks on everyone behind him. The first 2 dings unfortunately. Bastard, I hope he gets food poisoning this weekend or worse, hopefully his fat wife wants to have sex with him. Curse you.

A friend of mine was trying to advise me not to opticoat. Does anyone here regret having had it done to their car?

My friend is telling me that once it is done, if i ever get in a fender bender, that they'll need to polish out all the opticoat then reapply it all again because new oc doesnt bond with old oc after 30 days or something like that... Not that im expecting to get in many fender benders.

And he says to wait because the car is already super shiny and new, but i think the point of oc is to preserve the newness. Waiting would be counterproductive because the car will pick up more swirls, knicks, etc no?

Any advice?

No regrets.

In a fender bender, wouldn't the entire panel that was repaired/replaced be repainted? IMO, you would only need to opti-coat the newly painted panel.

Yes - it's best done when the car is new - however, even with a new car, polishing the paint beforehand is recommended.
