Thank you very much! Mine was off too. Now it's ON and verified by setting it off. The Lock symbol is on steady (in the cluster), before it used to blink. The horn still only beeps once, Owners manual says twice if off, once is on (when alarm is set), mine only beeps once when set and the alarm is on now.

Mine didn't turn on the first time I tried to activate it. I found that you have to hold down the unlock button and quickly open the door while continuing to hold down the unlock buttom (with the door open) for a good 15 sec.

To test if it is working, open a window, lock the car with the fob, then put the fob away and try to open the door from the inside afer 30 sec. Horn should go off and the headlights flash.

I noticed that as well, but the light did change to flashing after 30 seconds or so.

Since u guys brought this back up... Check your glove box for those two rubber caps... Dealer didn't install the a lot of cars.

As for that one member asking about the premium. Sorry, only applies to limited.

I only knew about the alarm since I read the manual before I got my car, lol....

Thanks for the tip. That was the issue the last time I tried this several months ago. I waited too long that's why it never worked. Now I finally got it. But I can't test the alarm yet coz its 12 midnight .

Thanks guys... Now My BRZ alarm was activate... The Lock symbol in the cluster was steady light status before it's always blinking.... Two months that I used the car and I thought the alarm was activated... I assumed before that when I press the remote lock button or button in the car handle and hear the lock sound. The alarm was already activate... I was wrong...

Thanks again guys...

I set mine the first night I got the car as I was browsing the manual and came across the page.

I would have as wel, but I skimmed by that section of the manual, thinking it was one of those obvious descriptions of how to turn your alarm on and off (not to actually ACTIVATE it)...joke was on me I guess lol.

I wonder how much else I missed?? Might have to go grab it for some Saturday night drinks and manual reading

I bet most people who don't read these forums and who don't read every page of the manual are driving around thinking the same thing.

I sent an E-mail to the dealership suggesting they give future buyers the heads up on the alarm.

I think every dealer should be told to activate it as part of their PDI. Imagine how many people will be pissed off if their car gets broken into, and the alarm doesn't go off (I know they SHOULD read the user manual, but like I said, I assumed it was directions on how to turn it on and turn it off (in the very literal sense) not actually activating it). It's strange that it doesn't come pre-activated anyway. I've owned 15+ cars, and never had one that the alarm wasn't set-up already.
