I would not recommend the Blues to anyone.

We are sponsored by Hawk with one our Honda Challenge cars, we have used all of their compounds. I will say I think its funny when I read "Hawk pads suck", I will tell you its your driving style and car setup / compound choice that sucks. Hawk pads are very high quality and score wins in top racing series all the time. We have used Endless, Project mU, Carbotech, Ferodo, EBC, Essex, etc. They all make excellent pads for certain applications.

HP+ is a street / auto-x pad and isnt really designed for heavy track use. HP+ work great for what they are intended for.

Blue 9012 is an older Hawk compound. It is somewhat corrosive and can eat the finish on your wheels if you let it sit for a couple days. We use these to clean debris of rotor faces when changing pad compounds. It is a better track pad then HP+ but likes a bit of heat, when cold they are hard on rotors.

If you are using Blues / HP+ and are not seeing the best results, try the DTC-30 first. If you are using HP+ now, DTC-70 most likely will be overkill. Either of these pads can handle the extra heat of the track and last longer under stress. They also provide more linear performance.

Blue 9012 pads on JBR Del Sol at Adams - SCCA Championship winner.
