As long as you can turn the wheels side to side, it can be done with the wheels on. You almost have to be able to turn the wheels because the forward bolt that holds the bushing bracket is really close to the tie rod boot - turning the wheel to 'stretch out' or 'compress in' the boot makes getting a socket on the bolt head much easier. Wheels off is easier because you get generally better visibility/access to the bracket, more room to 'wrangle' the bar in and out, and you get easier access to the end link (which I also didn't mention attaching/unattaching before!).

I was going to remove them anyway and if it works out, do this on a buddy's lift but just in case.

Sam, if I get access to the lift, I'll take some pics and write up a how-to for you to give out when needed.

Got the bar today but probably won't have time to do the install until this weekend. I will definitely take some pictures.

Sigh ...., I hate having to be patient. I guess waiting for the car to be released, and then waiting to get mine, I should have learned patience. Maybe by Friday, so I can intall it post haste for Sunday.

As much as I hate to do this.... We ran into a small issue. The two prototype bars were bent differently, then measured for CNC. Something glitched, and the few bars I just sent out do not have a tight enough radius in the bend over the tie-rod, which is causing some interference with the control arm. This is not right, and something we are addressing with the manufacturer post haste.

Those few of you who have bars, don't put them on if you haven't tried, if one is bad I know the others in that run are as well (and in fact I know that two are). As much as I am not happy about this, I think it's best that I laid the cards on the table right now and be upfront about it. It's a mistake that I will fix as quickly as possible, and new bars will be sent out, no charge, to those with fitment issues.

Sam - any idea on when those of us with placed orders could now expect to see the revised version shipped?

Thanks,
-Max.

I am guessing I have one of the bad bars? I think I had one of the first ones to go out. Have not installed it yet.

If you have his bar, its one of the questionable ones and its best to save your labor time and wait for the replacement. I discovered the possible clearance issues on Friday night and spoke to him that night. I had a call by Monday (he was on travel for a race, testing the FR-S no less) explaining the problem and that there would be a replacement bar coming soon. All the bends in the middle and fitment to the factory mounts is good, just the bend around the tie rod is long and thus comes too close to the LCA. Easy fix, just sucks for him the factory got it wrong after making 2 good prototype bars.
