I'm not so sure the price will be $19K. If he was talking about "positioning" it between the Impreza and the Legacy, I assume he was talking about the price range and not the base price.
That being the case, in the US, the (new 2012) Impreza ranges from $17995-$22,095, and the (2011) Legacy from $19,995-$31,395. Putting the coupe between these ranges could very well mean a price of $25K. |

So.... Impreza- 17,995-22,095 Legacy- 19,995- ~27,000 So if we average all numbers... Subaru 216A-18,995-24,500 would be the range. Which sounds reasonable considering the options they COULD fit. I know Scion is going to be limited but I feel like subaru would be willing to offer a Harmon/Kardon sound system, 17 inch alloys, keyless entry, auto dimming mirror, Rear wiper (maybe?), foglights, power seats maybe. Those last few things of course being some sort of convenience package. All that could add about $2,000-$3,000 but who knows what else could be added. But what the hell do I know? I'm just sitting here trying to put my 2 cents in like the rest of you guys.

I disagree with both of you. There is no reason Subaru can't offer a base version for $19k. No AWD. No CVT. Now if you want options, of course you will get well into the $20k range. No reason it can't start at $19k base. |

I agree with the guys who think its going to be higher than 19k. I believe it will be another 3k-4k more because a Civic Si is already $21,600 before dest.

Haha ok. After reading your post again I got you. The first time I read it, I read it as if the range you were giving was the range for the base based on however Subaru specs it rather than the range if they bring different trims out. My bad.

Yes, you're all right that it was a range between the Impreza and the Legacy that Tachimori-san was discussing.

But the question most want to know is the base price since some will gut the car or add a turbo/engine swap so they won't care about the warranty. Others just won't care about getting a fully loaded (bloated) car.

Base model for 19k would be great. Most OEM upgrades are things I can do better with aftermarket stuff anyway. Just depends on how their packages go.

I would be surprised if they priced the base model below $20K, but I sure wouldn't complain if they did! And, I agree that they probably won't go near the Legacy GT pricing.
