yep, that's the right attitude. If you can't afford to write your car off completely, you shouldn't be taking it on a proper race track. It is the responsibility of the driver, within reason.

I have to agree I take the Corvette out a lot on track days and I still baby it there to much cash to see it sliding threw a gravel trap or into a wall

I showed him on my car what causes that. Just a pop from sucking in so much air at once he said it sounded similar he is probably dumping the clutch when he shifts causing the noise. If you shift normally it won't happen but I can make mine pop

He was just parked and it was basically back firing in the intake.
