had a wilwood bbk on my old car which was an ep3 with a k20a2 in it.

On the internet, you find people complaining about everything...hell i bet people complain about free money...

Wilwood is a reputable manufacturer, they are a middle of the road brand. When you can't afford Brembos then you look at brands like AP and Wilwood.

I'm hoping to get these next year with some bonus money.

I'm sure the brakes Red Bull Racing gets are not the same as what we buy...

All these manufacturers have custom application brakes and top tier race caliber stuff. That being said I want the Wilwood badly, Brembos are nice but overkill for my application.

I liked the Willwood DynaPro 6 front brakes I had on my 86 Monte Carlo SS, they were dependable and I always felt confident with them on track days.

Read in many places that said to avoid rotors that have been drilled. Slotted seems to be ok, but drilled is not.

Is this true?

Drilled is fine. Is only a problem if you drill them yourselves. Look at Porsche brakes

Only if they're reaching their heat limits. The holes add to the tiny cracks (can't think what they're called) you get from temperature differences you get in the disc. Have a look at race cars and you'll find they aren't drilled. On the street drilled are fine and some people prefer them for their look.

Aren't the Wilwood rotors just dimpled and not drilled through?

I run these on my off road race truck they work great and see more abuse that the street/ track could ever deliver.

If you actually get a drilled rotor hot on a track with race pads you'll end up with cracks eventually no matter how it is done. But that's really not an argument that needs to happen in here. There are some benefits to drilling such as slight weight reduction and helping keep the pad in good, clean contact with the rotor.

The only thing I don't really like about wilwood is how the hat attaches to the rotor. Standard bolts and safety wire and it doesn't come pre-assembled, so you will have to spend quite a bit of time doing that. I see one rotor on the display has a better setup, possibly using a bellville washer. Not only does it give the rotor more float it's easier to put together and change discs.

04 STI kit the same?

I'm wondering what would be different about the kit for an 04 WRX vs this new kit for the FR-S/BRZ? Most of the components should be the same. Maybe a slight bracket difference, but since STI calipers bolt on to our cars wouldn't this also work? Eh, maybe they are changing the rotor depth.

Anyway, this should give you an idea of weights. 5.6 lbs for caliper, 12.3 lbs for a 12.88x1.1" 42 vane rotor.

$1675-1787 depending on rotor drill/slots

http://www.wilwood.com/BrakeKits/Bra...%20BC%20wheels)

I bought some 18" wheels that weigh about the same as the stockers so I'm looking for a place to cut the weight. This should be about 10lbs less than the stock setup, similar to the AP kit, but cheaper.

I saw this too but I think their using a different Caliper with smaller pistons ect to match our cars better we'll have to wait and see.
