So I bought the P&L Stage 1 turbo kit (still waiting on it to be shipped) and I also bought the Ecutek Cable/License/Tune from them. I asked if it was a John Visconti tune and they said yes.

Now my question is how exactly does this work?

I understand this thread is for NA versions of the tune but as there are no "official" Tuned by Visconti threads in the Forced Induction forum, I figured i would have a better chance having him see this here.

With this tune purchased through P&L am I going to have to pay extra for a tailored for my car tune? I don't see anything wrong with that but the tune that ships with the P&L kit is just a 5psi "get it running" tune and I want about 9psi on pump gas. Also I am assuming a separate tune for E85 with much higher boost values will be extra...

Seeing as how tuning a turbo setup requires a bit more involvement and risk, I'm just curious how this whole system works, am I going to be relegated to lower thus safer boost levels until i can get it on a dyno and have someone actually tune it on location? If so what are my options? I live in Phoenix AZ and have no idea if anyone out here can even tune via Ecutek.

Sorry for the long post, and also for posting FI questions in an NA thread.

I'm not sure which configuration you got, but you'll receive a EcuTek ProECU kit and startup calibration file. A lot of things have changed since I last tuned the P&L Kit so after flashing the base file it will require a few datalogs to make sure your car is safe.

If your wanting to turn up the boost, you can pay for a Forced Induction calibration. This calibration will support ECU based boost control, RaceRom traction control and Speed Density tuning.. etc etc.

After I get your car dialed in on the street you can schedule dynotime with me remotely - this is where you put the car on your local dyno and I'll tweak the car while you on the dyno.

1. Did you get upgraded injectors?
2. Did you get upgraded map sensor?

I'm suggesting my modified BRZ 550cc Injector and omni 3 bar map sesnors.

I have both of these in stock.

Let me know if you have anymore questions

Still going through my tickets.

Now have added release notes information to the ticket system as well as other information.

If you find incorrect info or think something should be added please let me know

For those of you that may have tried the no lift to shift, im a bit confused. The description says this "The secondary rev limiter is 200rpms higher than the point you push the clutch in. So let's say you no lift @ 4000 rpms, no lift activates at 4200. Now let's say you no lift @ 3500, no lift activates at 3700" If this is the case wouldnt shifting at redline cause the no lift to activate at about 8200? Could this be a typo meaning that it activates 200 rpm's lower than the rpm the clutch was depressed on? Thanks

I think you'd need a time machine for such a thing to happen...

Since there is an option specifically for this in the ticket system I am fairly certain he wants them that way.

Just easier to keep track of things that way.

I also have a bunch of info posted in the ticket system to help out customers with tunes

I know it sounds like a mistake but and i think its a typo, just wanted to make sure. @Visconti, don't mean to cause dilemma but i figured i would clarify this. Just wanted to know how it really works.

New to tuning!

Hey guys!

Firstly I hope I'm asking in the right place; it seems that this thread is closest to what I'm looking for.

Basically I've had my GT 86 for a few months now and I've recently considered performance tuning.

I work between the UK and South Africa and have been recently referred to a local company near my place in Cape Town by a friend.

I'd want a proper job doing and would hate to waste money getting it done only to find that it was the wrong choice, or worse, the wrong company.

They offer ECU Tuning which was the one "buzzword" I've been advised to investigate.

I'm not particularly savvy with all the lingo on the website though, so I was hoping to get some confirmation from the experts that they seem like a reputable enough company in terms of the services they offer.

Thanks in advance for any advice you may be able to provide, and apologies if I haven’t posted in the most appropriate thread!

Kind regards

Liam

I know it was discussed earlier in the thread, when the information about it was being released. I don't remember what ended up happening, but I believe after 7000k, it goes 200 rpm below instead of above. Someone else involved in the conversation earlier can chime in.

I would have thought that it would set it to 200rpm less all of the time, since when you upshift the rpm's usually drop. Lets see if someone knows what the deal is lol
