D'Antoni is now the Laker's Head Coach. Thoughts?

Not happy with the acquisition and if Phil wasn't picked, I'd suggest Sloan over D'Antoni. I scratching my head when Brown was announced as the hc and should have thought Brian Shaw should have been given the nod for the coaching position.

Poor lakers, they lose 3 or 4 games in and they start panicking.

They should have waited till everyone got healthier and while that pans out they could have worked on getting Jackson back on the sideline. D'Antoni is not the answer for them.

No defense. No wins.

i agree with this.

my heat went 9-8 to start their first year and ppl were trying to blame coach spo, saying he couldnt handle it and he took them 2 games from winning the finals. kobe is a baby giving ppl stares like he's god. theres your problem. i hope he breaks a hip.

No way! Wait until they fall deeper and deeper in the West! I'm sure everyone who is a Laker hater would love that.

I thought Sloan was the best fit for the team they have right now (if they couldn't get Phil).

I was kind of scratching my head at them hiring D'Antoni, especially since it seemed like Phil was at least somewhat interested.

Yeah esp when the media was saying that he was 95% sure he'll be coaching the Lakers. On the bright side, since D'Antoni helped utilize Nash to the max in Phoenix, I'm optimistic they'll play better once Nash returns.

I would agree with 100% of what Stephen had said but even he mentioned it. We're talking about 5 games in a 82 game season. Give me a break.

And as much as I would love to see the lakers tank this season, that isn't the case, I still want to see competitive basketball. You know?

They did give him a break, a permanent one! His scheme just wasn't working for the Lakers and Kobe knows what works and what doesn't. So for him to not say anything and show body language was enough for them to pull the plug.

Most folks are afraid to admit it but I'll say that the coaching staff makes up for majority of a team's success. Russell & Cousy wouldn't have won w/out Red, Magic, Kareem and Worthy w/out Riley, MJ & Pippen w/out Phil.

Well I can't blame too much on Kobe. He's probably thinking the same thing I'm thinking, this could be his last good year for a run at another title.

And there's no doubt about it Red Auerbach was the man and really helped out Russel and Cousy and other players on and off the court. After reading some books on the Celts, Red had really stamped his name alongside with the Celtics franchise. I think he's done a lot of things that are equal or more compared to Riley and Phil put together (not just as coaches). Still coaching does go a long way.

Finally seen Ray on the Heat. He's still looks like he got something left in the tank.
But this play is what I mainly remember from last nights game.
