I drove a c300 back when I was looking at WRXs and it was an absolute turd. Their transmission was a joke, and in general I really wasn't impressed in the slightest.
The cars you compared the FR-S to aren't even in the same ballpark, at all. |

I like the car once I get nto 3rd gear, But I had not set out to buy a Peterbuilt that requires double clutching to get in and out of second gear.
As I tell people who ask...The FRS is a very good car, but it is not a great car. The many and varied build issues with the early cars do not help. The fact that the dealership denies knowledge of any build issues has annoyed me; there is no shift issue known to Scion Canada, There is no Taillight condensation issue known to Scion Canada. There is not crickets in the engine compartment known to Scion Canada. It is hard to remain cheerful in the face of such attitudes toward customers. I still like the car, and agree that it is good value for the money, but am not in love with it and doubt very much that I ever will be. I needed a new car, there was nothing else available at the time that ticked the RWD lightweight boxes, so I bought the FRS. Made my bed and will live with it. |

I know this. But I thought he was going to say because of the shitty gearing in comparison to the manual which makes for a slightly slower car. If the gearing was way better on the automatic I would easily choose it simply because I hate clutches on most manual transmissions. And then on top of that plenty guys are complaining about gear grind with this manual transmission and lack of clutch engagement feel. That's 2 major strikes that would piss me off.

You regret getting an Fr-s for a C class?? You never should have test drove an Fr-s in the first place. You definitely bought the wrong car if that's what you regret buying it over.

I traded in a modified E92 M3 for the BRZ and I have no regrets.

I think the only thing I miss from my last car was the engine noise. 8k red line with the SI. This car is just too quiet. Needs a nice exhaust and intake.
