NOT a 2+ 1/2 +1/2.
The Catalina is 3.5 feet longer than our cars, are you really serious here?

Maybe you can seat your kids under 5ft. This thing is smaller than the mini cooper, and even those seats in the back are not seats for adults.

I mean this is a size of the s2000, mx5. imagine them having seats in the back!
I disagree a bit with this depending of how far back dudes in the front position their seats. I'm a regular size guy but i drive kinda close to pedals and steering (more race style close to do smooth steering inputs rather than too laid back with seat very incline and arms too stretch that really can't permit controlling the car as it should). This is my view and some might not agree.

That being said, I bought this car to replace my Miata (2 seater only as you all know) because my 2 sons CAN occasionally fit in the back for short trips (only if the front seats are not fully recline). My oldest son is 5' 6" and he FITS back there. Head room ok but feet kind of squeeze under the front seat. For sure its not ultra comfortable but it can be done if needed.
If this is going to be your only car and you have kids...better think about it because going in/out in the back is a bit painful. To bring friends daily---no go, but occasionally it's better than a 2 seater that's for sure.

For me it was a selling point (besides that the car's handling, styling are just great).

Hope this helps some of you decide. :happy0180:

Only 3.5 feet?

Serious? Yes. It is one of several cars that I am aware of that is described as a "2 + 2". For the Catalina it was the name for an actual option for the Catalina with chrome script identifying it on the exterior (back fenders) and in the interior. Ferraris also come to mind.
My point is that the BRZ might be called a 2+2 but it is a 'stretch'.

For my kids, leg room is not the issue but rather they just can't get their feet under the seat in front of them unless they remove their shoes!

I'm 5'6" and when I sit back there I am completely uncomfortable.

AND the Roof is right there so over a bump I hit my head.

If you want to torture your friends give them a ride back there for 50 miles.

The back "seats" are for INfants and INlaws.

Might be time for you to test fit some modern 2+2s. Try the back seat of the Evora on for size and get back to us.
