Just finished watching Wreck-It-Ralph. It was pretty good. Only thing I didn't get why AKB48 was sang Sugar-Rush?

AutoCrossed a friend's NA Miata today.

I LOVED IT.

Miatas are awesome and I want one, I want one, I want one.

Although, this being the first car I've ever driven without ABS, I locked up. A few times. Quite a few times. I even managed to truck some cones after locking up hard under braking while coming in from a fast sweeper. But I slowly learned how to use the brakes after a few runs.

If you have a budget of about 4k or less, and want a fun car that you can hoon, then I strongly recommend getting an NA Miata. You'll love the damn thing.

Somewhat unrelated:

After bleeding brakes and clutch on my buddie's G35, he told me to take it for a spin. I took it out and after I got out on the street, I stalled it at every light. I didn't know what the hell was going on! The engagement was unusually high, but light enough. The throttle on the other hand (the first DbW throttle in a standard car I have driven) was far too sensitive. I just couldn't get it to be smooth, and then when it jerked around, the movement was enough to change the throttle input enough to stall the damn thing. I just couldn't get it.

My buddy got it fine, and said the clutch was great, so i guess I just wasn't used to it. It was very unusual for me because I have driven cars from all over the torque spectrum, but this one just perplexed me. I think it was the DbW system, but I might just be incompetent.

No help, not even a "How are you guys today?". This was at a Toyota dealership.

I tell ya man I get no respect. I swear I only get respect when I wear my business suit. But when going casual, nope.

/rant
Got the same treatment when I went to Bennett Toyota (the biggest Toyota..ya da, ya da, whatever.) It was almost like hot potato with the young one who looks lost. Better yet the salesman was as knowledgable as a salty sea terd when it came to the FR-S. Next place I went I didn't take three steps on the sidewalk and the salesman said what can we put you in today? Knew I wouldn't be going to another dealer after that. Like it or not we judge people by what they're wearing. I was rocking a mustache probably looked like a derelict, but one that meant business.

of all the cars i've owned in the past (WRX, Skyline, etc...) the miata was the most fun out of all of em, and it didn't have any nannies (didn't need em.....some 78 whp). when i got out of the service, i was looking to buy another, but couldn't find one for cheap enough.

edit: since i'm saving money, i can't figure out if i wanna keep saving my cash in my tip drawer (where it won't be used) or stick it into my bank account. >.< just 1.5k needed now. almost there...only think i'm worried about is since i keep putting miles on the mini, not gonna get the 10k i want for it

Just saw a serious car crash on the news. 5 people in a little vw polo driving home from a night out. Only the driver was wearing a seatbelt, all the others were thrown out of the car. Is it really that difficult to wear a seatbelt? People will never learn.

The Miata I was driving was a very clean NA with 150k miles that my friend bought for 2k. Hell of a deal, IMO!

They are damn good fun!

I'm sure it is but the sales people there didn't give a flying *)#% to help us.

First off, I'm still single. Maybe I should have said female friend.

Secondly, . I had a much easier time getting my loft apartment in one of the most expensive cities in the US.

My dad would always wear old clothes when he goes car shopping, so they think he has no money and will probably finance/lease. he'll talk them down as much as possible, hinting at financing, then comes back a few days later and pays it in a lump cash sum, hahaha, the looks on their faces. like a child getting socks for Christmas....
LOL, how do you get that smell then? I need some of that Finance Commission cologne. Btw, I look like a guy that just graduated H.S. or is in college. F me!

It's gonna be da ghey, IMHO. Why? Have you seen what constitutes as shows about growing up today. Not as good as the 80's & 90's.

Thats why when I drive I make sure all my passengers have their seatbelts on before I put in drive.

Dude you're gonna love it, IMO. It's a hell of a lot better the Quantum of Solace. I have a bias opinion though because I love the Bond franchise.

EDIT: I can't wait to finish this series tonight.

just watched Skyfall and for all it's short comings it was a good nod to the James Bond of old movies. Which weren't that good either but all had character which is why they all hold up.

go see it if you haven't already.

F*** went into SF today, encountered my steepest hill start ever...2 stalls, burnt clutch smell everywhere.

That dumb Lincoln Towncar just had to be inches behind my bumper, otherwise I would've had a little more time to rev the engine up.

Speaking of my day in SF, I saw a large group of Mustangs driving by with almost certainly illegal exhausts, they were revving like mad and managed to set off half the car alarms on the block. SMH.

Also there were some gangsters in a Camaro doing burnouts on the road. SMH.
