No, I haven't seen it. 50 HP might be sufficient.. ..if a turbo was added and the car gained another 50-70 lb/ft of torque. I thought bolt-ons would add enough power to satisfy me, but they haven't really transformed the car. Guess I'll need an E-85 tune next and eventually boost.

Therefore anyone claiming the FR-S is slow while owning one of the above cars, is simply an idiot OR they are calling their own car slow. I don't know about the rest of you, but anything that does 0-60 anywhere in the 6 second range, even 6.9, feels pretty quick to me when compared to nothing else.
Oh I see. I agree with what your saying.

My manager who drives a Shelby GT told me that he was "quite impressed" on how the car drives and handles. He said he did not see this little car be so great running down the road and mastering the turns.
Another co-worker did not enjoy the design of the car completely until he sat in the car and saw it drive. He owns an imprezza STI and the car slightly made him wish there was a turbo kit made by the manufacturer just to make, as what he said, "this bad ass beast mark its territory even more".

If anyone complains about the FR-S, just have them sit in it and experience the car first hand.

P.S NO ONE DRIVES MY CAR, except me and myself. I even take it and drive it to the service bay myself when I need stuff looked at where I work.

I experience the car firsthand everyday, it's a great platform but definitely needs forced induction. I have a feeling my FR-S is going to be sitting in the garage most of the time once I buy a built engine to replace the engine with low compression in cyl 4 that's currently in my turbo Miata..

There's this guy on YouTube with the handle "richie2nice" who keeps bagging on the FR-S/BRZ with the same tired old arguments over and over (It's a slow POS. It doesn't have enough power! It's a ricer. Good car, but needs more power. Nice chassis, but SLOW AS HELL. Ricer econobox. Economy car that looks good.). He also seems to have bipolar disorder, sometimes absolutely despising the vehicle and sometimes liking it but criticizing its lack of power.

All this coming from a guy who drives FWD Honda Civics and Accords from the 90s.

Troll him to death, please.

The FR-S is a sports car, in fact it's exactly what you need from a sports car from Japan. It's cheap, it's quick, and it's made to upgrade. This car has become an overnight sensation because of this. The fact that no other car recently released has come close to the level of aftermarket support this car has should tell you something.

I guess if you really need heated seats and a magic butt tickler in your car this isn't for you. For those of us who wanted a pure sports car that won't break the bank to own, there really is no other option.
I've discounted the FR-S because it was taken by Scion and stripped down from what we were shown in the Toyota 86. Specifically the GT Limited. That's how the car has been made available everywhere else in the world, it's the car that was hyped up to us. It's the car I want. Not the stripped down Scion. I've pointed out in another thread that my TRD Celica GT-S had better options and equipment than the FR-S from factory, which had the same purpose, and it's a ten year old car. We lost out on under car covers that reduce the coefficient of drag, the high performance brakes, in addition to the seat heaters and other things (see link in my sig). Which, by the way, I live in Canada where we have -40 winters (F or C, it's the same temp) so you bet your ass I want my ass heated. I'd like to add, those are available on the Toyota 86, so yeah, the Toyota 86 is the car for me. Not the Scion, which I already said.

I test drove the car today and while I obv couldn't push it the way I'd like to bc it's a test drive and I had an old salesman who I could tell would become visibly upset had I tried anything fun, I will say the car was a pleasure to drive. I must also say I totally agree with you that a slight increase in hp and torque would really make this car perfect. Regardless of that ill be trading my R32 in for a subaru brz limited this week. Decided i liked it better than the frs looks wise and its interior is a bit nicer. Going to subaru Tuesday evening to make my deal. I don't know if I would want to go turbo route with the car though. I feel like exhaust, intake, cams, e85 tune would be plenty for a car that's this light weight. Also if you still have that power bug after that you could supercharge and not worry about some of your money being wasted on the prior mods really. Plus while turbo systems have become far better at reducing lag and are probably better in the long run if someone's goal is huge power numbers down the road, the idea of lack of lag and power through the entire powerband with a supercharger is more appealing to me. But my goal would never be ridic high power numbers so that's just my .02 . Just realized that long winded summary says I agree with you totally man. It was def worth writing this all out -__- lmao

lol...

All I say is... it's pretty light.
They say, yeah, but it's 200 hp... I say, yeah but it's RWD!
They say, yeah, but it's so small... I say, yeah but check out it's handling!
They say, yeah, but it's a Scion... I say, yeah but it has heritage!
They say, yeah, I don't know...

Then I say, listen, what other sub $26K, RWD, awesome handling, uber-engineered car do YOU know of... that gets 30 MPGs while remaining fun?

CASE CLOSED. I WIN.

Plus it's a really nice looking car also it's not like its some little ugly thing that just handles well. It's not like it looks like a miata or Mini Cooper lol The car has such nice lines IMO. People who dislike the car seem like they're those typical keyboard racing top gear idolizing guys who think they're experts in everything automotive.
